Hi Gus.

I understand that voda are launching a flat rate data service in June, does anyone know how much this may cost?

Being voda I guess it will be more expensive than T-mob and Orange.

Cheers.

Hi,

Vodafone are altering their data pricing as of 1st June 2007, there's more information on the below link

Vodafone data pricing as of June 2007

Pricing Breakdown

Working for Vodafone, new data packs are also due as of 1st June 2007 which will feature on top of the data pricing structure (although this information has yet to be officially released).

Deals have also been agreed with MySpace, YouTube, Google and Ebay for mobile based services. (personally speaking I'll be interested in the Ebay service with having to currently go through an Opera Mini browser at the moment)

Hi.

Thanks for the info, my mate has also managed to find out more info on the monthly capped service for £7.50 a month!

There is one huge downfall though, I've attempted to report on it at my website: http://www.verysmartphone.com/

Sorry mods if I'm not ment to post url's.

Cheers

Best move Vodafone have made getting rid of that £7.50 per mb flat rate, couldn't browse outside of Live! without going bankrupt! Lol

Vodafone are useless. I called them because I wanted more info on their data packages and guess what? They're not being launched til 4th June!!

I currently have a £40 extras pack which I can either use for text or data. It's more valuable as data because it gives me the equivalent of £120 worth. Their new pricing structure means I am actually going to be worse off so I am seriously looking at moving to T-Mobile as soon as my contract is up

But don't their new data charges include unlimited internet access for 7.50 per month. Thats better than the £40 your paying now, or am i missing something.

No, you're right. I was having a blonde day yesterday and didn't make myself clear. The new package isn't being launched until 6th June now so I'm only worse off for 6 days (unless the date moves AGAIN)

BTW, it's not unlimited - it's capped at 120Mb..

I have been hammered last month by Vodafone, I signed to the 120MB /Month plan and the first month was fine I never went over and from June 30th to July 7th (I stopped when i realised it was going wrong) i have been charged £72.

they seem unable to tell me why and I can't use the net on my phone as they can't tell me it's fixed.

I have to wait a month and be issued an incorrect bill and then have to call back to sort it out.

when did you sign up for the bundle? as it may have pro rata'd. if you signed up in the middle of the month then you would only get so many days worth of the bundle to use.

this is because all vf services run from teh 1st of the month till the end of the month.

I signed up on the 5th june the day after it was available, even if i hadn't the way I read it is a maximum of £1 a day for first 15MB, I haven't gone over that at all yet. I spoke to CS and they also confirmed I was on the bundle and haven't gone over 120MB

hmm that is strange there should be no charge for that, basically i would call back to ensure they are looking at the correct data.

I'm in the same boat.

But i'm using my phone, they're just going to sort it out in the end.

But you don't have to accept the incorrect bill. under the direct debit guarentee scheme they're obliged to correct it.

Hi everyone

Working for Vodafone, I do know there is currently a billing fault affecting all Vodafone customers who have the monthly data pack.

The information I have is that customers who receive a monthly data bundle have been charged for all usage from 28 June onwards. This includes the new mobile browsing tariff. The problem will be corrected for 1 August and customers will receive a credit on their August bill for usage that should have been in bundle 28/06/07 – 31/07/2007.

Hope this helps explain what's going on

Thanks for the info, the staff I spoke to on the phone admitted there was a problem with my unbilled charges, I was not offered much help after that, except told to wait for my bill and then try to reclaim the money.

You wont have a problem reclaiiming the money. they just insist that you wait till the bill is generated before you claim it back.

But it is a little distressing having up to £240 of unbilled calls a month.

And they've done nothing. they could have sent a text saying they are aware and sorry. but from what they told me if i don't phone up it wont be fixed. it's really a waste of my time and i'd like them to offer something in return.

I think maybe this deserves a complaint to OFCOM. They clearly know there is a problem with over charging and are quite prepared to let people get ripped off unless they phone and complain.

I have phoned many times, given them 6 weeks to sort the problem and I still have to phone back to avoid being over charged

Vodafone do seem to be experiencing software problems at the moment. There are other threads detailing problems with Pay as You Talk credit disappearing, content control re-applying itself and Vodafone Family not working, all with confusing replies from customer service. Hopefully these are just teething troubles from a botched software upgrade.

My bill generated today is £102.31, should be £19.50.

They want to re-credit my account next month...

They over charged me £86 this month and I have emailed them and they are giving me a credit and changing my direct debit amount so I don't have to pay this in advance

I've had the same overcharging issue with Vodafone for the first 4 months of my contract, CS said i'd been downloading stuff when i know full will i hadn't I ended up getting it credited back. But imagine the people that dont complain or even notice, there service is better than the others but the billing leaves alot to be desired. I've stopped paying by direct debit, although i know i pay charge for this its funny how the overcharging stopped.
