New mobile phone - Sharp, Nokia or Panasonic
Hi
I fancy one of those mobiles with picture messaging etc. Am drawn to Panasonic GD87 but also fancy either Sharp GX10 or new Nokia. Any views on which is best! |

The phones based on Symbian can do a lot,
goto www.my-symbian.com and look at the software available, MSN Messenger AOL Messenger ICQ IRC Full Web Browsers Doom Splintercell loads of software available. I would recommened either the Nokia 7650, 3650 or the Sony Erricson P800. To be honest the Sharp or the Panny have nothing going for them that stands out in terms of what it can do. |

P800 is the most advanced phone you can get at the minute. If you compare with Nokia equivilent they are similar size but P800 wins hands down and more on features such as MP3 player, surf wap and FULL internet, camera, touch screen etc.
Thats the one to choose. |

P800 needs more software for it, which i think will happen... it took a while for the Nokia 7650/3650's software library to grow. |

You don't fancy the new moto on 3 for £105 on a no ties contract with no monthly line rental? It's an unbeatable bargain if you ask me.
Otherwise, out of those three I'd recomend the Pana GD87, it's a cracking phone and there's some really good deals on it at the moment, as well as A39 software with most bugs fixed and the (long awaited!) extra sms capacity. Liam |

Get the new Samsung v200. Just got one myself. Very nice with swivel camera. Picture quality is very good but that more to do with the screen quality (65,000 color). It got great polyphonic ringtones too (the first with 40 bit - I think!)
No games downloads though. It all depends what you want. |

It's also not got predictive text which ( in some people's opinion) is a bit of an oversight. Not saying it'd bother me, the lack of line 2 however would. Don't get the GX10, it's got it's Ir port disabled which will really frustrate you having to pay the MMS or GPRS charges to transfer stuff to your PC. Liam |

I urge you to go for the 3650!! It's got everything, it's smaller than the P800 (which is an unattractive, expensive brick) it can play MP3s (with MP3go or ReadM) control you AV equipment, like DVD player TV, VCR, Sky box etc. (with IR Remote from PsiLOC), it has a WAY better camera than the P800 or 7650. It's an amazing phone, and although the P800 is technically superior, you can't beat the amount of apps available for Series 60 phones.
It's a bit like the battle between the PS1 and the N64 a few years ago - the PS1 won becuase of the software base. |

Erm, no. The 3650 camera is not superiour and yes its actually bigger than the P800.
I rest my case: http://www.esato.com/phones/index.php?phone=47&cp=33 and click compare sizes above pictures. |

Plus, there are lots more phones planned to use series 60, instead of UIQ, which will mean even more apps. |

When I want to use my phone, I don't want to be faffing around with a stylus. Plus the detatchable keypad looks ugly. It costs loads more, it's heavier, and I think it looks ugly.
I rest my case. |

Read this review if you can hang on till May. As you can see from the review they expect it to be the leading phone right through the summer. |
