IIRC the amps compatible with the HD sound formats are few and far between.

I think I saw a review of one a few weeks back but it was pricey

at the moment ref home cinema choice last month. there are no commercially available home cinema amps or recievers that will decode true dd or dts but there are plans from some manufacturers to release these later this year.

DD+ and TrueHD are audio formats present on HD-DVD and Blu-ray, not aware of any broadcast source or DVD sources.

Any decent amp with analogue multichannel inputs can accept those formats which really are just higher bitrate DD and a lossless high res audio format (similar to DVD-A) so no need to upgrade an amp for those.

Blu-ray players are actually better than HD-DVD as far as Dolby is concerned because they encode tracks in the standard DD container which can be read by any half-decent amp. HD-DVD uses DD+, which at bit rates of 384kbps and above is indentical to DD but uses a non-compatible container. Pure marketing gimmick!

Onkyo have/are releasing their new range, these are fully compatible to all the new HD formats. I believe these are the first on the market to include DTS HD MA.
