I simply don't like Lee's voice.

The reason he put Lewis through was to get rid of the competition. Daniel was a threat to Lee as he was the only other one in the competition who had any real talent.

I've stopped trusting his face - he makes such bizarre expressions that I can't tell what he's thinking! (I'm sure the BBC shows us his weird gurning just to confuse us!) The problem was that he was gushing over Lee so much, that it sounded like a foregone concluson to me.

Im not so sure. i have said somewhere else that i don't think ALW talks about Lee with any sincerity.

I honestly think the public are shockingly wrong with this.

HOW they think Lews / Ben / Craig can be joseph over Daniel shocks me.

Ive often thought the public have terrible taste, and this just confirms it.

I absolutely agree, and cannot fathom why the Lord can't see this. Lewis better than Daniel? It makes no sense. Also, how on earth did Craig escape the bottom two? Weird voting, very weird.

The bookies choice Rob has gone at the first opportunity - reduces the chances of the public backing Joe public.

Seamus was out at the first opportunity - the older pro who could sing - Belinda.

Daniel has gone so there is no other experienced pro who could do it.

Lewis is the one being saved without getting the public vote - this year's Helena?

That leaves ALW the problem of Keith who looks far too young, can't act but may get votes for his singing. He's got Lewis, Ben and Craig there but they have all been in the bottom two .

lLast year he got rid of of the two other people who could hold a West End stage in the semi final leaving Helena who could sing but didn't have support to come second. That was helped by putting them on last with no time to vote for them.


How does he get rid of Keith though?

Give him a song that does not suit his voice! Then get all the judges to criticise him Oh! of course that is apart from Bill Kenwright who thinks everyone of them is Joseph and that they all performed brilliantly

I would rather see Craig, Ben or even Lewis take the role over Lee. Not because of anything to do with Lee, (because he is brilliant there is no question over that and he will get other opportunities), but because of the decisions ALW has made to give him an easy ride to the final. Each chance he's had to knock out the major threats to Lee (Seamus, Rob, Daniel) he's taken. He's ignored their talent and saved lesser performers. If ALW doesn't have faith in Lee to outshine those who can challenge him, why should the public?

I don't think it's Lee that ALW doesn't have faith in. I think it's us.

Eight hours later and I can't still believe the choice of ALW - what are we left with Craig and Lewis can never pull off so many performances in the West End, what are we going to see tears every night? part of the blame must go to Bill Kenwright, why does he continue to give so much "false hope" it's like pop stars who start to believe their own PR - Keith though good is just not right for the part they might as well select Graham!

Lee's vocal for me is one dimensional and he does so overact, he looks tired and his failing perm - well say no more.

BEN is just the one light that is left and everyone should get behind him to make it to the Final when we DECIDE! that is if the voting is "legit"

First Melinda Doolittle from "American Idol" and then Daniel, every artist I have worked with I have told talent will always win, perhaps not if you face does not fit?

I think Daniel was the victim of all his fans thinking he was safe and not voting cos there was no way he was the weakest.

I agree - I just hope that doesn't happen with Lee - I am very glad I have held off from buying tickets yet! My mates and I are just biding our time so we don't waste £50 each on the wrong show!!

I think it was a mixture between that and the fact that Daniels been ok but not brilliant the last two weeks, but ALW's final decision should help PREVENT this from happening

Just a note here, you're obviously fairly biased but just to let you know - Lee's hair isn't permed, it's natural. I totally agree that ALW made the wrong decision with Daniel last night but don't personally slate the others - this is their life you're insulting.

Right from the start ALW has said he would like a young, poppy Joseph. Every time he's had a clear choice between a light, poppy voice and a darker or more dramatic music theatre voice, he's saved the former. Before last night there was always a possible (if not always convincing) explanation - Ben's heartfelt sing-off beat professional Seamus, - Craig's reliability beat vocally-strong but confidence-crushed Chris, - Rob just wasn't a Joseph. However it is impossible to say that Lewis was superior to Daniel in any aspect of last night - solo, group, sing-off, dramatic interaction with Denise - so it can only be the look and sound that ALW wants. I don't think this is at all good news for Lee, who is a muscular, dramatic, dark-toned singer, if he's ever in a sing-off. He's pretty much the only classic musical theatre type left.

What on earth makes you think that the public have any say in the final ( or indeed any ) result ?

The aim of the phone in is simply to raise money for charity surely.....and to give voters a sense of "ownership " , nothing more.

I agree..I think Lee should be worried with last night's decision. Total shock for me.

ALW is always talking about the journey from boy to man.. I'm afraid Lee is already the man and so maybe not what ALW is looking for. Same goes for Dan which is why he didn't save him.

I think Ben stands a good chance after last night's performance, although I haven't rated him much before. We'll see next week I suppose.

I think Daniel is absolutely fantastic but never in a million years a Joseph. How on earth could they make daniel look young with that mature face and mature voice. He is a star but not Joseph and I hope someone picks him up

While shocked by last night, I'm not that upset about it. At the end of the day, Lewis needed the show more than Daniel. Daniel has managed to get work solely off his own back. With the help of this show, he stands an even better chance of getting work. I would be extremely surprised, if someone else did not offer him a role.

I agree - in the sense that whoever wins is not the equivalent of what the public likes best (but what the voting public likes best). And theres a large proportion of people who watch the show, have their opinions, but are not prepared to waste any of their money on it (I´m one of those people).

I definately didn´t think that Daniel was the poorest last night, but its always the same with these competitions - talent will get votes, but so will how you behave on the clip (eg if you have an ´emotional story´ etc - sympathy gets votes and perceived arrogance or confidence loses votes too). But I can´t really complain, since the ones paying the money should get the result they want - even if I don´t agree with it. Voting by the public will never always be about true talent and if people can´t accept that, they shouldn´t watch the show as it will just annoy them.

I enjoy the show - of course I have my favourites and would like them to do well, but I´m aware the results can go all sort of crazy ways. The fact that theres a sing-off at the end with the judges deciding prevents a really atrocious singer from managing to win (although on last nights decision I was very surprised at him chosing Lewis over Daniel)

With respect If you put yourself up for a competition more so on peak TV then genuine criticism is to be expected.

You say I am being biased, well weeks ago I would not have gone for BEN! - but looking these last few weeks at his performance he has raised his game and meets all the specifications that Andrew set out - I always though it would be Daniel and Lee in the Final, but now I realise they do not fit the criteria, but that is the fault of the judges, along with Seamus why where they ever put through?

Life is not easy and as I said in another thread being Mr Nicey Bill Kenwright at times is not being good to the younger Boy's it is giving them false hope, even AWL said after last nights show if Lewis should come bottom again he would go?
