The only likeness I can see (and I'm a big Will Young fan) is that they are both 'nice' ... and smile a lot.

Both have fab voices as well, but that's about it.

Ah, I am so gratified that despite having been so unfairly and unceremoniously booted off the show some time ago his Appreciation threads are STILL nudging up at the top of the forums!!

Should give ALW and co pause to consider the very substantial and tenacious following Daniel has won for himself and ALL of it could have been for the show. Why they can't run both Dan and Lee in parallel beats me. Two very different interpretations of the part that'd be fascinating to compare/contrast. I'd pay to go twice just to do that...I did it recently when Patricia Routledge took over from Frances de la Tour in another production.
Think of the extra income, ALW such a ploy would generate!
Give Daniel the part before it's too late!! We love Daniel if you didn't already guess.

taking my life in my hands with this(!) but just wondered: does Daniel inspire more lust or tenderness? Lee's threads seem practically salacious at times. Some of Dan's fans edge towards it but the thing I truly like about Daniel is he seems to me much more a tender romantic which in the long run far outstrips bare lust. Just wondering!!

Bit of both for me. I think he is drop dead gorgeous but has the kind of innocence that makes me just want to cuddle up to him all night

When you see him in his podcasts and BBC video's, he comes across as a really caring guy, showing real emotion and in the case of some of his podcasts, leaving me in tears. Add to the fact that he has a voice that was heaven sent and a fit bod, and well i'm sold!

I have noted exactly the same thing when lurking on the different threads! But Daniel is the quintessential decent guy and gentleman -and intelligent!

- I've now watched him in ADWD, all videos and interviews I can -and, joy of joys, disc 2 of WOTW (which is pre-ADWD) - and he always comes across the same - as just a truly lovely person.

He probably brings out the best in everyone he works with as well.

More tenderness than lust -but it's hard not to notice how gorgeous he is as well and it's not just his looks, his whole manner is very engaging

His future looks very bright - can't wait to hear what he will be doing. He deserves great things

As you say so long as he isn't ruined by adulation and stardom I think he has a very happy future ahead!

I don't think he will be. He seems to be a very humble guy with his head screwed on. At 28 he is old enough to know the dips and falls of this profession - he will continue to be a lovely, genuine guy whatever successes come his way.

I have never doubted it..you kind of sense innate decency when you encounter it and Daniel brims over with it..little wonder the panel kept saying he 'was the gentleman' of this industry....I think he going back to the Cement Works filing just proves his sweet reliability. The lady colleague there clearly held him in affection and high esteem.

Incidentally, were there ever any interviews with his family/parents, as with some of the others? If so , I missed them. Shucks!!

I think, if I remember rightly, we saw brief interviews with his sister and brother. I seem to remember his brother, who is a primary school teacher, was interviewed in the classroom with the kids.
