I thought the sing-off tonight was fantastic, their voices blended really well together and were really strong - definitely the best sing-off so far imho. They really gave the song everything they had. (I thought that Daniel 'acted' it better, but I don't think ALW has ever seen him as Joseph and he more or less admitted it tonight, which was a bit naughty - "you would have gone sooner or later anyway" type of comment, rather cheeky and not very tactful! )

A lot of people on these threads have said Daniel would be good in Les Miz - I wonder if the producers of that were watching!

I thought tonights was brilliant, Daniel in particular had me bawling my eyes out. But it is such a fantasticly moving song.

I still have a soft spot for Bens 'He's My Brother' performance though.

I think it was by far the best sing off though I disagre with the comment about Daniel's acting.

I felt genuine sorrow actually
Really moved by it

Half brilliant. Daniel's half.

It was fantastic. Daniel gave the performance of his life. ALW needs some serious therapy !

DANIEL was really Amazing! - I am lost with the comments from GREY John Barrowman! and well the lord ALW has lost his crown.

The assessment from AWL was uncalled for! I don't think he watched the same Sing Off.

But what went wrong with the vote? I just can't understand people, if any of you watched "American Idol" on Friday night Melinda Doolittle was thrown out with the lowest vote?? her voice and range is the Best I have heard for many years! - what do the public look for???

I think that a lot of people don't actually vote - otherwise Daniel wouldn't have even ended up in the bottom two - GN even said of the two Daniel had the least votes and yes the sing off was brilliant - they both sang it well but Daniel's acting was the best - and he sang 'close every door' brilliantly.

I have thought the same myself. I'm sure Jon (formerly of S Club) might be getting nervous!

Yes, the sing-off was very impressive - I do think that Daniel's parts were in a different league from Lewis's, though!

It's definitely the best sing off since Ben vs Seamus. However, unlike that singoff, I felt that in this one, there was a huge gap between Daniel and Lewis. I just wish that Daniel had been given this type of song before.

I had mixed feelings about the sing off to be honest. Rather disappointed on the whole. Both of them didn't do it for me which surprised me.

Shock result last night though.

I think we get the idea what ALW is looking for. The journey from boy to man etc....

I just wish they would be given more songs like that in the show, Daniel would have been completely safe if they had.

It was for me. I was exhausted with willing them both on.

Very moving, especially Daniel, he really conveyed the emotion of the song.

Can't bear Lewis. I find him quite spooky the way he stares into the camera. It's not intense, it's creepy. He should have gone last night. Daniel has been better throughout and the most consistent, he sang better in the sing off by a long way and ALW only voted him off because from day one Lewis is the 'David Beckham' Joseph they wanted. Forget talent - as long as he 'looks right'. For once I am angry with the Lord because even his reasoning made no sense...

The voting public has changed in recent months.

I don't vote at all now for anything and I tended to be a floating voter who didn't vote as a fan but as a genuine best on the night. I think since the phone voting scandals many like me (relatively old and are reacting having felt we have been taken for a ride in the past) don't vote anymore and it leaves the fans to do the rest. Daniels age was against him in that respect as there have be more young voters than older. He wasn't te tops last night but he was not bottom two material either. No way.

I think ALW reasoning was off the back of Lewis' acting which we didn't see much of and Denise said was the best.

There is so much we don't see.

I believe ALW listens to whoever the public votes as last and only saves that person above the other if he has real reason too. Last night perhaps he didn't. Daniel wasn't wonderful and Lewis' acting outshone him (according to Denise - and I have to say I was impressed by what I saw). Just my two pennyworth.

Nah, I still think He Aint Heavy was the best. I love bring him home though, it doesn't half make me weep.

Denise said he did the best in the seduction task, which really has very little to do with acting skills. I think the Les Mis task and John's acting class is a better indication, in the acting class Daniel was a lot better, oh and he didn't forget his words or cry in the loincloth task either!.

From what is said on the show and the podcasts I think Ben and Lee are the strongest actors followed by Daniel. I've yet to see any proof either way for Lewis.

And if he really listened to the public why did he save Helena Blackman 5 times last year?

I'm afraid that I couldn't see how fantastic Daniel was as he seemed to blub his way through his half. I found it very uncomfortable to watch as I felt he was overdoing it (IMO). Lewis was more natural but I think he'll be out next week.

I don't think that Lewis was more natural as he over emphasises his mouth shaping the words he sings, anyone who is a natural vocalist does not need to do that, it looks very uncomfortable.
