So he wanted to stay with youth even though he thought Daniel should have lasted a few more shows. Pathetic decision.

Well, that says it all doesn't it.
Youth will prevail and not talent

I think ALW made sense, he knew in his mind he didn't want Daniel as Joseph. He didn't say he wanted Lewis, just he felt Daniel wasn't right for the part, something which I have always said.

The think we need to start thinking objectively, I for one have always dismissed Lewis without giving him a chance. It's not who we think the best performer is...... It's who would make the best Joseph.

And I still think it won't be Lee

Okay *takes deep breath to control herself*
He wants youth - fine - it's his show and his bloody funeral.
But if Lewis or Keith end up with this part, then I hazard that ALW will live to regret it.

I am starting to worry about that too. But i dont feel the others will be able to carry the show.

We need to stop thinking with our hearts telly, and start thinking with our heads. Maybe Joseph wouldn't be the greatest role for Lee, I know it is his dream and I'm sure he has other big ones !!

Just remember......... Any Dream Will Do !!!

Did I hear recently that Louis Walsh is going to manage the winner of this show? So this could fit in with the theory that a young/marketable winner/runner -up is what ALW is looking for.

However I'd imagine that Lee still has a healthy lead in the voting and the prefered 'safe hands' for the role of Joseph.

I know where you are coming from Merry Mead, but it is the big name role that Lee needs, yes we all agree he would make a fantastic Marius but that in itself is not the lead role in Les Mis, it also in a production that is not centre stage. To conquer the world, well to become a true star, let face it he has already been compared to Hugh Jackman, he probably does need the Joseph role to really hit the headlines, not just in this country (including Ireland )but across the pond

I'm not a fan of Lewis but if Jason Donavan can play the role......... so can Lewis.......... it's not difficult a role.

Everyone who has gone has sung Close Every Door really well. And after all the narrator has the biggest part !!

I don't think Lee would complain about being cast as Marius though! That would definitely tempt me back to Les Mis.

Well I hope ALW sticks to his word and back YOUTH all the way to the Finals, that count Lee out! as long as he is not biased.

His comments about the acting from Lewis, it was also mentioned in the VT how good DANIEL was, so lame excuse Andrew, you bottled it!

just watched it, I agree ALW bottled it as DVO said the one who made her feel the most at ease was Daniel. If Louis Walsh is involved then count Lee out louis only takes ones that can me moulded into carbon copys of what her already has.

I think like everyone else...... ALW is entitled to his opinion, whether we like it not is another thing

If Daniel was never going to be Joseph it does make you wonder why ALW put him through to the top twelve. I suppose the same was true of Simona in the Maria programme. At least he gave him a platform to show what a great talent he is. I really hope he does well from this.

I really hope Lewis finds "a flame" next week. He's going to need it if ALW is to save him again.

He thinks Daniels should've stayed... thinks Lewis will go if his "spark" doesn't become a "flame"... and yet still sent Daniel home. Worst decision ever.

My other question is: He wanted to go with "youth." So why bother even putting anyone over the age of 19 in the top 12 if you're just going to get rid of them for being too old?

Lots of people think this was a poor decision by ALW. As a Lewis fan, I think it was a suprising decision. Perhaps ALW preferred Lewis for a a reason he couldn't say (personality or something? Although why that would be I'm not too sure, as there was no denying that Daniel was a really nice guy), and was clutching at straws to back up his decision.

If I've said it once today, I've said it a million times, I was so sure that Lewis was going home. As was my Joseph mad friend, who I often refer to for a second opinion. I also think Lewis' days are numbered. Especially after this.

ALW and Daniel never appeared to become best of friends.
I was an unsure viewer of Daniel - I couldn't see him as Joseph either. The one thing I will take ALW to task for is giving us the excuse that Lewis's fifteen seconds of 'acting' swung it for it. Ridiculous. Daniel fans I would feel appalled that a young lad chatting up DVO in the guise of 'acting' smacks of favouritism. I'm not going down the conspiracy theory - I don't believe that - but I do believe its a case of if the face fits. Daniel didn't have the face for it and thats what he be should telling us. So pooey to ALW today. Hope he stubs his toe. Twice. In the same place.

Just glared at ALW watching that and his pathetic excuses made me wanna punch him! I was all for parting with my money if Daniel was beaten in a fair fight with Lee or even Keith, but with Craig, Ben and Lewis still there i guess i have extra dosh to spend on my kids instead!

Ok he was in the bottom 2, but surely if ALW had saved him, he'd have come out fighting next week, and we'd have battled even more to keep him in.

Feel really insulted with ALW and his reasons for saving Lewis. So 15 seconds of him chatting up DVO on a sofa swung it for him even though Daniel could have lasted a few more weeks. Pathetic. Now feel really cheated out of a few more weeks of hearing Daniel even though he was never going to win. Maybe it is for the best in the end as I dread to think what ALW would have him singing next. Lewis will probably go next week.
