I have a conspiracy theory....

During the past week, ADWD has had a LOT of promotion: Steve Wright had 2 people on from ADWD, Wossy had JB & ALW, they were in the Sun every day, Star one day as well as well as other stuff...

Now, what if they KNEW this week's show was going to be a bit of a shocker and therefore wanted it hyped up and publicised a bit more in advance?

A lot of people have been saying that they couldn't get thru to Daniel's phone line too?

Have I gone stark raving mad?

Probably, but I am feeling a little cynical about this week's show....

I can see where he is coming from - he just wasn't expecting Daniels fans not to vote enough for him to end up in a sing off - and if it had been Craig for example, Craig may well have gone and Daniel would still be in. It was the lack of votes which put Daniel there - so I think he was a bit shocked to have to choose between Lewis and Daniel - he clearly sees something in Lewis - and I agree I don't think he has ever been really convinced of Daniel for the part - as he said he is casting so he has to go with that - as for going with youth - fine - but ALW is smart enough to know that Lee could be Joseph easily and would bring the crowds in - he has to get it right - it's his show and reputation on the line. But he also said Lewis has a long way to go - I am not convinced he will show that burning flame that ALW wants but Lee has already done that.

a lot of people feel that way - it could well have been tactical voting on ALW's part - I think he knows who he wants and maybe he is making sure that happens - however as we have all said - we want an exciting final show - not a predictable bland one - Lee, Seamus and Daniel as the final three would have been sensational (I might have been twitching a bit incase Lee messed up) but there would have been some quality performances - now I hope it doesn't just fizzle out towards the end when it has been such an entertaining show so far - not that Lee would be disappointing but just the competition element of it.

Lee would do OK as Marius but it's not a massive part in my opinion. One solo, a couple of duets and a few bits and pieces.

However that's the strength of Les Mis. Lots of leading roles.

It's going to be very interesting next week isn't it. OK, while my first choice would be Lee, I like Lewis a lot, but even allowing for my soft spot for him I think there must be something there which we haven't quite seen on camera yet for ALW to support him. He has shown what he could do in performance in bursts, rather than being consistent and if they have been seeing that and more in training that might explain it. He is going to be such a big talent in a few years.

At the risk of being lynched I understand ALW comments and pretty much agree with him.

I understand them as well - didn't agree because I wanted Daniel to stay over Lewis but I can see his point

After all he did write the show, so maybe he should have a say in who wins

Absolutely true, it's his show, he should have the joseph he wants and if it's a disaster it's his fault.

I would give you a lift in my little porsche (if I had one) to get away from the lynching mob as I also understand what ALW is getting at too.

However, I think most people's grievance is that Daniel is more talented than Lewis and therefore should've been saved.

And ALW should've steered AWAY from the GBP opinion (which was afterall to can Dan) and kept him in to make a better final.

So what we actually wanted was for ALW to play it tactically for a good tv show on the 9th rather than doing what he actually did which was to play it tactically to get rid of Daniel whilst he had the chance for the sake of the West End show.

I sincerely hope ALW wants Lee and gets him; but I too am getting the jitters that he wants Ben or Keith which would mean that I have to dramatically burn my opening night tickets (actually I'd sell them as I'm far too tight to do anything so rash!).

Sends a much clearer message to ALW if you return them or sell them on ebay

The publicity that the show received this week would have ensured quite a few new viewers.

Those new viewers would have no previous knowledge of the contestants' ability or history.

Showing Daniel going back to his "day job" then referring to him as "a professional" during the critiquing of both his performances made his VT look fake.

Criticising his performance while over-enthusing about others who were not and have never been anywhere near as good would influence the new viewers to think negatively of Daniel. ALW commenting that Ben Elton did not agree with his flattering comments last week was unnecessary (who the hell cares?).

I now personally would love to see Lewis or Ben win this. The critics will have a field day. I would feel sorry for them (there is only one contestant who I would love to see win this only to get mauled by the critics) but I can't see Lewis impressing consistently or Ben having the character at this stage in his career to carry off a leading role.

Sends a much clearer message to ALW if you go up to him and stick them where the ...............................................

So why did he put him through to the live shows?

The guy is one of the professionals (albeit semi) in the contest. The criticism he received in this series and particularly last night could affect his career prospects for a long time to come if not permanently.

I believe the saying is "suck it and see "

i don't know why ALW put seamus and daniel into the live shows, when, he clearly thought they were too old. i think if he wanted a young joseph he should have put an age limit on the auditions, not be unfair if the older ones are in the bottom two.

Older people can 'act' young , Seamus just had a bit of an attitude problem........ and thought he knew it all.

Daniel doesn't have a 'young'... not his fault, he's just a mature guy.

actually, for the record, seamus didn't have a bad attitude, he was editted to look like he did so he would end up in the bottom 2. daniel looks older than he is, but he should have stayed in.

I loved Seamus he was my second fav and I loved his attitude, especially the Close Every Door moment !

Seamus is cheeky, not arrogant like he was made to seem.
