Yeah, me too I think Lee and Dan are more talented, but Seamus' red mop just screamed 'joseph' to me. And I loved his exit, talk about doing it on your own terms.

No, i mean becuase others have said arrogant, that is how he was made to look on the show, but hes actually cheeky and strong willed.

If Lloyd Webber's going for youth over talent, why did he send Antony home? He was the youngest - only 17 - and very talented. I'll admit his performance of Patience wasn't good, but it was a minor blip. I only wish Webber would be consistant in what he says. He always seems to contradict himself.

Because anthony wasn't good

Yep, it's the lack of consistency that I can't cope with either. Last year he said he wanted a totally different Maria, one who 'climbs a tree and scraps her knee'. He then proceeded to knock out anyone who actually fitted that description and gave us the closest thing to Julie Andrews he could possibly find. This year, he said he wanted a 'young poppy joseph' but we could be forgiven for not taking him very seriously. Turns out he meant it - be afraid - be very afraid - and watch out for Keith or Lewis, starring in a West End production near you!

I will avoid any show with keith or lewis in as a lead as they are not ready or good enough in all areas yet.

Daniel doesn't have a 'young'... not his fault, he's just a mature guy.”

I think both Daniel and Seamus came across as "younger" than Lee who comes across and looks considerably older than his 25 years.

It would appear that ALW thinks he has more than enough money already. I can't think of any other reason why he would be willing to sabotage his own production in this way.

Or maybe he's just got less sense than I gave him credit for.

I agree.

Lee in particular. His veiny neck and hamster cheeks when he's singing make him suddenly look much older.

I totally disagree. I'm the same age as Daniel and I'd have put him as late 20s if I didn't know his age. Lee definitely looks older than my friends in their early 20s, but younger than friends of my own age.

Or maybe he's the expert, and your just someone watching a reality tv show? I don't agree with his choice, but, he knows what he is looking for.

There's a lot of anger and disbelief on this board and other internet sites about Andrew's decision. Shane Ward is very far from being the only one who thinks he got it badly wrong. And Andrew is a composer, not a casting director, and even if he is as much of an expert as you say, that still doesn't mean he can't make a mistake. You are right in saying that Andrew knows what he is looking for, but is it the right thing? I don't think he's very tuned into what his viewers want, actually.

And if the rumours are true about JB storming off just as the programme finished, well seems that he and Denise (who was crying buckets), are also in a state of disbelief!

An expert at what? Andrew Lloyd Webber is a composer and producer, he is not a casting director.

Yes, he did. My friend who was there said he was fidgeting in his seat while GN was wrapping up the show and he shot out of his seat the second that the cameras were off.

Wasn't there quite a big showbiz event taking place elsewhere last night?

That surprises me - I didn't think he was a big Daniel fan.

Tell me about it! He's not exactly been over enthused with praise for Daniel over the last few weeks, and Denise hasnt been his best friend either.

Yet it seems both of them were suitably shocked and upset!
Go figure!

You can critique someone's work but still appreciate their talent. I think they obviously recognised his talent but were trying to stretch him to bring it to the fore.

Yeah and thats a bit of a blow to Webber - even his appointed experts disagree with his choice.
