What do we know about the acting abilities of the remaining 5. Craig seemed quite good in the Les Mis thing if I remember, Lee came across well in the exercise with JB last week although he giggled through his routine with DVO. Lewis and Ben have been praised on their acting with DeniseVO and Keith was dire in this.

What else might I have missed that would perhaps give us an idea who they are thinking would be good for this ?

There hasn't really been much to miss! The general impression I've had is that Keith and Ben are quite weak and the others are quite good. It's a shame we haven't seen more, though.

Yes musical theatre is about acting and singing well written and constucted songs, which have not been shown at all.

Well Lee can, obviously. And Ben has lots of potential.
The others are pretty rubbish if you ask me.

exactly. I didn't think Lewis demonstrated any acting skills at all in the seduction task to be honest...

I thought the same as ALW. There was a spark there. It surprised me.

Lee is a great singer and actor.

Keith is a good singer but his acting needs alot of work.

Ben is a rubbish singer but is quite a good actor.

Craig is an average singer and average actor.

Not sure on Craig.

To be fair, I donīt think the seduction task should be the sole indicator of their acting abilities. Yes, you could argue that actors should be able to act under any circumstance, but hat situation wasnīt quite the same as it would be on stage (it was a bit too personal having to do it with Denise in that kind of setting).

Lee was pretty hopeless in it, yet I predict would be able to act it out really well on stage.

I agree, I was just pointing out that ALW's reason of a 'spark' in Lewis was pretty pathetic, it isn't a true acting test. The John Barrowman one in Maria was slightly better because they were doing actual acting excersises before he kissed them.

Yes, I think that set-up with Denise was more about making it more interesting for the viewing public, than getting the best out of their acting skills - a less embarassing and intimate task (on stage) would have been a more accurate way of guaging their acting talent imo. Lee is by far the more professional actor, yet it made him feel silly. And that kind of task was bound to embarass Keith who is very young and inexperienced. However, I do feel despite his naivity, Keith is professional when hes on stage and listens well to advice given - and would have done a lot better on stage.

I agree that the Denise mission was useless in gauging their acting skills. I can't blame any of them for feeling uncomfortable being alone in the room with someone who has most likely made some lusty/pervy comment about them. I think it would have been better getting them to do it on stage with a female actress who was not Denise.

I think the best acting mission was the JB one last week.

Out of the boys who are left I think Lee and Ben are good actors, Lewis and Craig I'm not sure about, and Keith is weak in that department.

What evidence is there that Ben is a good actor? The tiny clip last night was pretty dire and the only other thing I can remember is the Les Mis exercise, but we didn't actually see him acting there.

I know I am biased but I think you can see Ben acting in the group songs. Look again at the Beatles clip last night with Lee - they outclassed all the others. Ben also sang a ballad *all by myself* dire vocals but he acted it well.

Oh and forgot the sing off with Seamus. he acted that song!

I was meaning acting on its own rather than acting while singing.

The only interesting thing about Lewis is his constant ability to bust into tears at the slightest provocation - such a drama queen.

How would he cope with the stress of 7 shows a week in London's west end. Of the ones left I think only Lee (and possibly Ben) could hack it.

I think Lee and Keith are v. good, but Lewis and Ben- average, and Craig, well, I can never believe what he's singing and he looks a prat when he's just acting, my goldfish could act better. No thats a bit harsh, I love you Craig!

the person who was classified as the best actor out of the joesphs has not left the show so knowing that Lee is extremly talented i suspect he will be the best actor out of the remain joesphs

Keith? Good? to me the only box Keith ticks is that he's a good singer, but that just isn't enough. I don't call smiling and winking good acting.

I agree completely with Jocko, I actually think Siobhan was a better actor than Keith (and believe me that is saying something). Not taking away from Keith's voice, but I think he would be a disaster as Joseph.

I think i might just agree with you. and i have to tell you I was not a fan of miss wooden top. But at least she had the good fortune NOT to look like Liza Minelli

"miss wooden top" I love it! The Liza Minelli thing was absolutely hilarious last night - the resemblance is uncanny

when i watch craig, i think he is natural. his style of acting is
the kind of acting i like. when i watch the others i'm aware
of their affectations. their acting does nothing for me..
