Does anyone have a FUNAI DVD recorder?

Hello all,

Been thinking about picking up on of these budget recorders after reading good reviews.

I mainly want to back up a few old VHS tapes and wondered if anyone knows if they support NTSC input as a few of my tapes are imports.

Any idea?

Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the replies......

00tommo.....Have you tried to input NTSC? The manual to my current machine doesn't specify NTSC but when tried it works fine.

paulyoung666.....What disappointed you about it?

Thanks again.

i reckon it was mostly the quality issue , it was ok on the one hour setting , and that was about it , anymore than that and i thought the quality dropped off to the point that vhs was as good , i saw a lite-on recorder in tesco for £68 , seems to be a good option after reading up on it , plus it is black and a smaller model than the funai , i might give it a go and see , if it is no good then it goes back

A friend of mine has one, it only does minus -R / -RW I believe but works ok.

No RGB input I think (Video and SVideo only)

He never found a way to play his region 1 discs on it though.

I bought a Samsung DVD-VR330 in December last year. Just finished copying about 100 vhs to dvd on it. Froze on me maybe 4-5 times. I put it down to the odd bad disc in batch of 100 so powered off, ejected the disc, put a new one in and had no probs. Cost me £139 from Argos, cant fault it.
