I'm not at all sure this is true. ALW has had plenty of flops before remember. Maria went extraordinarily well for ALW last year, but it was a big risk. If you ask me, he's got a touch overconfident. He overruled the voting public (in that Lewis had been in the bottom 2 before), the panel (2 of whom said Lewis should go home) and the evidence presented to him in the sing off on Saturday. He'd do better to listen to the opinions of those around him, rather than throw his weight around.

But clearly alot of people didn't want daniel to win, as, he didn't get the votes. thats the bottom line.

On that logic, then no one will go and see Lewis, Ben or Craig either as all three of them have 'not got the votes' and been in the bottom two twice. Do you think we should skip straight to a Lee vs Keith final?

My point is that just becuase some people like daniel the best, clearly not ALL people did, becasue, the others got more votes.

Well obviously not everyone likes Daniel the best. Take you for starters. What I would like to know is if we totted up all the votes for all the programmes, how would the top six rank? The BBC has been very reticent about this information (apart from revealing who has the lowest number of votes). I would hazard that the overall totals might work out something like 1. Lee, 2. Keith, 3. Daniel. I'd say Daniel's first three weeks in the competition pulled in a lot of votes.
Obviously this is all speculation, but no harm in wondering!

Doesn't make much of a difference though does it - people vote each week based on that show, and, it is only a tv show.

Cleo - will all respect - you are absolutely entitled to your opinions but people posting in a Daniel thread are still sore from the weekends result .... and are just airing their frustrations.

If you don't agree with what they are saying that's fine but some of your remarks come across as quite cutting, even if they aren't intended too

It is only a TV show but these guys fans want them to win - when they don't they are naturally gutted for them. There is a lot more hoolpa around this week because of the nature of the decision ... by next week we'll have something else to talk about.

Yeah, but I think the reason why we're all getting so emotionally caught up in this is because to the boys involved, it's much, much more than that. For them it's actually a chance of a lifetime (pardon the awful cliche ) and I don't imagine that at any point on Saturday night Daniel thought, 'oh well, I'm out, but on the bright side, shock results like this make great tv'.

All you have to do is take notice of the buckets of tears being wept to realise how much this means to them.

the major shock was that Daniel really didn't deserve to go -he outclassed Lewis by a mile! Plus, many people, including those who were not necessarily Daniel fans, could see that some sort of travesty had taken place.

I am coming to terms with the possibility that ALW really does want a young poppy type Joseph - he orginally said he was looking for a Jason Donovan/early Michael Jackson type

AWL has made mistakes in his career, tell me anyone who hasn't! and I'm sure he needs no one to defend him.

He admitted recently that he made a mistake with Aoife. I think this is slightly different because he clearly wants a youngun to do the role.

I think his mistake was in the way it was done ... and I'm sure he's aware of the up-roar it has caused. At the same time, people are talking about the show aren't they ... so he won't be too upset!!

I don't think he's an idiot, just using his vote to get rid of a strong contestant who might prove unstoppable in the later stages - like he did with Seamus. Lewis could well turn to be this year's 'Helena'

I have not gone on evey single thread saying it every 10 minutes. I can see good in all of the Josephs just Daniel reached into me and grabbed my attention, so have Lee and Ben now. I have not gone into any appreciation thread and dissed the person others like, unlike you. You see I respect other peoples opinions.
