Contestant statistics to chew over ..
I've made a table of stats to show where each player is in terms of being on the winning side and so on. It breaks down as follows :
# - number of tasks completed p - as project manager P - won as project manager w - on winning side (including as project manager) b - called back to face Sir Alan in board room #, p, P, w, b -------------- 8, 2, 2, 6, 1 - Jadine (only player to win 2 out of 2 tasks as project manager) 8, 1, 1, 7, 1 - Tre (most times on winning side) 8, 1, 1, 5, 1 - Lohit (always in team Eclipse) 8, 1, 1, 5, 0 - Simon (only player not to be called back to board room - always in team Eclipse) 8, 2, 1, 3, 2 - Ghazal (last player fired - always in team Stealth) 8, 1, 1, 3, 1 - Kristina (always in team Stealth) 8, 1, 1, 2, 2 - Katie (fewest times on winning side of those who remain) 8, 1, 0, 5, 2 - Naomi (only player of those who remain who has not won as PM) -------------- 7, 2, 0, 2, 4 - Adam (all board room visits consecutive) 6, 1, 0, 4, 1 - Paul 5, 1, 0, 1, 2 - Natalie 4, 0, 0, 1, 2 - Sophie 3, 0, 0, 1, 2 - Gerri 2, 1, 0, 1, 1 - Rory (double firing with Ifti) 2, 0, 0, 1, 1 - Ifti (double firing with Rory) 1, 1, 0, 0, 1 - Andy .. I hope that is clear enough. Enjoy

Nice work alexq.
I think the biggest surprise for me is that Naomi has been on the winning side 5 times. Given her record it's a shame that the most we've seen of her in recent weeks was the "Trainer Task", where she didn't come across at all well.

.. too late to correct my table - I would place Simon ahead of Lohit simply because Simon has not been called back to the boardroom (considering they were both on the losing team when Lohit was called up for his only time, its a close one as their other stats are the same). My table suggests the strongest final four are Jadine, Tre, Simon and Lohit. Of course, stats only give a part of the picture - it doesn't indicate if players were lucky, personable, supportive, "team players" and so on. I guess for Sir Alan its 90% performance and 10% personality?
![]() PS. Thanks Laura - yes, Noami has been for me pretty anonymous. Like Lohit, who on the face of it has performed well, she has been overshadowed by the stronger naratives and personalities of Katie, Kristina, Simon and Tre.

I think people watching the show (including myself) have a tendency to forget the candidates who get on and work within their team without making a song and dance about it. What makes good telly (Katie's set-pieces, Tre's moaning which is very funny most of the time, arguments etc) isn't the same as what makes a good apprentice.
Naomi and possibly Lohit could easily make it through to the interview stage. They've been pretty invisible to us as the viewers, but they must be doing something right or they'd have been called into the boardroom for being lazy by their team leader, or Sir Alan would have said something about it at some point in the boardroom footage before the teams learn who won. |

I just think it's interesting that for the last five or so tasks, the same team has won - which suggests there's a divisive influence in the other team
who could that be I wonder |

They've had Adam and Ghazal, which I reckon put them at a disadvantage. Adam did quite well on the Art task, but poorly on Zoo, French and Shopping List tasks. Ghazal did dreadfully on the Advert tasks and seemed largely a dead weight on the others.
One of the nice things about this show is that when the weaker team loses a member it becomes stronger. Naomi is worth more than Adam and Ghazal put together. Now we have Katie as PM again, and I wouldn't be surprised if the losing streak ends. |

We have to remember they are trying to make an entertaining one hour show. Therefore if people aren't giving off witty (or bitchy) one-liners or doing something incredibly stupid (cooking a sausage over a candle) and are just knucking down, then that doesn't make the best TV and it may end up on the cutting room floor.
If someone told me Lohit for example was to win, before the series started, id have liked to have seen more of him, so I could see exactly what he has done. Michelle for example was rarely featured, and yet won, suggesting she was a good candidate. However, we rarely saw her, leading to the mass-belief that the much-seen Ruth deserved to win. Dont get me wrong, I loved the Badger, but i would have liked to have seen Michelle more. Hopefully, someone like Kristina will win, so at least we have KNOWN they deserved it, instead of someone like Lohit, who will inevitably get slatted for not being worthy, truthful or not

Statistically the most interesting thing is Tre's record. You cant argue with success, especially considering he has won while a member of both teams ( even with Slow-Adam!!!!! ). Great Stuff

The only bit of the results going for Katie is that she was the PM when Tre was defeated. Allthough that might have been more to do with Rory. If she doesnt win this week she could go, i hope not though

That's why some people seem surprised that Naomi and Lohit are still there despite not seeing anything much of them so far. They may not be interesting on TV but they could still win the job. |

![]() He now has incredible power in the boardroom should Sir Alan suggest that he is disruptive to the team and that his personality is a negative influence.... ...All Tre needs to say in answer to Sir Alan is... ..."Not true, I've been on the winning team 7 times out of 8, so whatever friction my personality may cause it's probably beneficial to the team and a positive motivator, the end results speak for themselves". |

Yes, that's something I noticed with Tre too.

What strikes me is that no one has a record like a US winner like Kendra on US series 3 - who rarely lost because she, like Tre, often had the vital idea, won all 3 times as PM and never saw the boardroom until the final interviews. Tre is looking pretty good though if SAS can take the dodgy car salesman image. |

I don't think keeping out of the boardroom is a good thing. You need to spend face time with Sir Alan so he can get your measure, otherwise a bad interview can sink you regardless of prior performance. Eg Paul last year, won 7 out of 10 tasks, including both times as PM, and never in the boardroom, yet got summarily fired by the interviewers.
This is one of the reasons I think Naomi gets underestimated. She is the only remaining candidate to have survived losing as PM. I see that as a strength. One of the important tests in life is how you deal with failure, and she dealt with it well (in my opinion, and probably Sir Alan's). |

I also think that SAS will be wary of employing someone like Naomi given some of her similarities to last years winner. Not necessarily because of her lack of ability, but because SAS won't want to be seen as being sucked in by a young pretty face who is percieved as not really contributing all that much to the tasks... I don't see her as a real contender for this reason. She might well make the final four, but I can't see her making it past the interview stage. |

I agree that Naomi still has a lot to prove. Now that the weaker candidates have pretty much all gone, she's not looking as good as she did earlier.
I am an even bigger fan of Sir Alan than I am of Naomi. I believe he will pick whoever he thinks is best for the job, regardless of public opinion. |

Yeah, I think so too.
His boardroom choices seem very different this year... I think he's basing his decisions on different criteria to previous years. Before I think he was partly concerned about thinking who would fit into Armstrad, and who he could work with, and this was reflected in some of the decisions he made, but this year I think he's basing it completely on performance in the tasks. I think we'll see one of the stronger characters who really proves themselves on the tasks win this year. I don't think it'll be one of the UTR players unless one of them steps it up majorly in the last few weeks. |
