This was mentioned in The London Paper as well. Given both are Murdoch rags there could well be some truth in there!

I suppose this could be beneficial to Sky because Tiscali will never have quite the same marketing clout or coverage as Virgin but will still be a bargaining chip.

Or what are the odds of the Tiscali TV service being rebranded as Sky? And could any of this be one of the reasons behind Tiscali's lack of marketing?

It also raises the question as to why Tiscali doesn't carry any Virgin Media TV channels or the full UKTV selection.

Or, if you were suspicious of Sky, you could think the stories have been planted in Murdoch papers just to try and up the pressure on Virgin again....

I wouldn't be surprised in Tiscali have been trying to do a deal with Sky - but it's suspicious that this has just be 'leaked' a week after Virgin alledgedly reject another deal with Sky.

Particular when they say this:

"The deal, which could be announced within weeks, will enable Tiscali, the owner of HomeChoice, to offer channels including Sky One, Sky Sports News and Sky News to its 1.48 million broadband customers. "

That implies that everyone on Tiscali is going to get it - which isn't the case - at least for the next 12 months, probably longer cos I suspect the 1.48 million customers are their total broadband subscribers and not just those that are on their own LLU network.

Hmm if this happens then I might consider a move to Tiscali (depending on the price) once my 12 months are over.
