When I send texts to other people I get a Deliv report saying if they got it or not but What i would like to know is if the other person you are sending a text too is on there mobile will it still come back as being Got by the other person or does it wait till the person comes off the phone??

It should come straight through, regardless of them being on the phone.

yeah if the phone is off or the text can't get through straight away it will come back as "pending" until the message gets through!

Im on o2 with an N73 and im clueless about delivery reports. I have them turned on for mms messages and when they are opened at the other end i get a little pop up on my screen telling me its been delivered. But with normal text messages nothing happens but they go into a report folder and say pending and that never changes

They still receive the SMS whilst in a call, depending on setup they may hear a bleep during the call to let them know a SMS has arrived. So as long as the phone is switched on and in coverage, they will receive the SMS and you will get the delivery OK message.

for sms on o2 you have to put *0# then a space at the start of the mesage & you will then get a report back

I used to work for Orange.

They charge 1p for every delivery message!

So for those people on the Dolphin 35 package with unlimited messages (although fair usage is 3000 texts) be aware, it could become a very expensive package!

The 1p charge is ONLY for Contract customers - not Pay as you go.

I find 02 delivery reports come in handy and I been using it for over a year now but find the delivery reports are only 98% right a very odd once in a while.

02 devlivery reports is free to 02 pay and go but you have to type *0# before the text and if mobile is off or it takes a min or so to get though the report dont come back as pending. You only get a report back when it has arrived other end. Like once in a while a friend I text got mobile off and I 99% of the time get a text to say its arrived there end so I know there mobile has been turned on again.
