Seriously alot of people have said that this week depends on the song choice - so if it was up to you what would you make them sing?

Songs as similar to those from Joseph as possible.

Ben needs to try a ballad again
Lee has done upbeat/ and slow/ballad, any song i think he'll do well.perhaps a more poppy upbeat song.
Lewis needs a show tune
Keith, i think he should have a show tune too, or try again with upbeat songs as they are his weakness.
Craig, i would say a ballad.

I'd like to see Keith do a song with some attitude - something other than the wide eyed innocence to give him some acting range to be judged on. Like wise for Lewis.

I'd like to hear them singing some standards or songs from musicals... one song I'd love to hear Lee singing, especially if he did a slightly "jokey" version, is Cole Porter's classic "Let's Misbehave":

"We're all alone, no telephone, ain't got our number,
The world's in slumber... let's misbehave.
There's something wild about you, child, that's so contagious,
Let's be outrageous... let's misbehave."
(I may have mixed the words up there but that's the general idea.)

I'm not that bothered what the others sing, if I'm being brutally honest.

Give Ben a nice big ballad. Lots of words. Couple of great key changes.

A showtune even?

Sunset Boulevard, maybe?

For Ben: No power ballads. No rock n roll. No "cheeky chappy" tunes. Something grown up and emotional and with a gorgeous melody.

For Keith: agree with something with attitude, and not even cheeky humorous attitude. I wanna see him be a b*stard.

For Lee: something innocent, fresh, young... dare I say it... Mcfly?

For Lewis: something strong and hard and cold... nothing either mushy or cheesey, I want to see him act something other than mildly in love.

For Craig: tough one... something quiet, subdued, tender and emotional. He's only had one ballady kinda thing, maybe something from a musical.

Lee - 'There's No-one Quite Like Grandma' - St Winifreds School Choir

Ben - 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now' - The Smiths

Lewis - 'Ace Of Spades' - Motorhead

Keith - 'My Humps' - Black Eyed Peas

Craig - 'Anarchy In The UK' - Sex Pistols

Might make it interesting.........

No - there is never any need for McFly!

Craig - something from Cabaret would be about right
Ben - Angels would be great for him
Lewis - Something emotional, a Les Mis/Saigon song?
Keith - Something semi-operatic to show off his voice
Lee - doesn't matter as i'll get bored and ffw it anyway.

When you try and do this, you realise how hard it is. Just thinking of songs from musicals, because that's what I want to hear them sing, I thought maybe:

Ben - Sandy from Grease (wouldn't he be a great Danny?)
Craig - Mr Cellophane from Chicago (I'm not having a dig, it's a heartbreaker and would make the most of his vulnerability)
Lee - Empty Chairs from Les Mis (very obvious, I know)
Keith - something to show off his big voice - maybe 'Oh What a Beautiful Morning' from Oklahoma? or 'Music of the Night' from Phantom. They might be a bit old for him, though.
Lewis - No one's Gonna Harm You from Sweeny Todd - young and very sweet.

Oh Lord, giving Keith "Music of the Night" would be so mean! Unless that's the idea . I wish people would stop suggesting "Empty Chairs" for Lee, he doesn't have the voice for it.

Fantastic choices for the other three though! I'd love to see Craig doing "Mr Cellophane", and "No One's Gonna Harm You" is such a lovely song (but I think I'd give it to Keith).

I'd like to see Lee sing a Queen song - something with a sense of humour and a bit of cheek - 'I Want to Break Free'.

I have heard Keith sing "Music of the Night" and to be frank I think this song would be perfect for him, as it is rite in his vocal range.

If you follow this link you will hear Keith singing "This is the Moment" from Jerkyll & Hyde. Sound quality isn't too great, but it still shows his voice off. This is the song that Craig also sang.

It's a big week for Ben. He's made himself look like a real contender, but this is a challenge now, he needs to convince on a good slow and emotional song (Angels was a good idea), otherwise I think his rising star will rather faulter.

Keith needs to show some performance skill to prevent being left behind.

Lee...difficult to say. If he gets a real challenge and he's giving good performances each week, it might not actually do him good. I think he could do with a good performance on a middle of the road song, and save some big performances for the last couple shows.

Lewis is another one who needs a very big acting song.

Maybe go for a few songs from other ALW musicals [gives him the opportunity for casting other parts!] and then other stage show numbers.

Gethsemane [from JCS] to challenge Ben
Oh What a Circus [Evita] for Lewis to see how good he really is at acting
The Music of the Night for Keith [he wants that big song!]

I loved the idea of Mr Cellophane for Craig ... I think he may rise to the challenge

I think Lee needs to have something lighter as he has shown intense/dramatic/emotional so maybe he is the one who needs something comic from Little Shop of Horrors or Rocky Horror Picture Show!

I actually like that idea a lot, he has the voice for it, but it NEEDS performance to make it something special.

Ben did enter grease is the word, but didn't get very far in the boot camp.
