Personally, I think he's putting on the big man act on Saturday night. He's only a kid and he's trying to pull it off on national television, he doesn't always get the tone right and sometimes appears a bit cocky. Inside I'd say he's bricking it.

I think a far more fruitful line of inquiry is to examine his relationship with Zoe. She doesn't pack any punches and if Ben couldn't take criticism then their relationship would be rocky. If Zoe thought Ben was arrogant then she'd be coming down on him like a ton of bricks every week. Remember what she was like with Emilie in Maria? But in fact, Zoe seems to get on very well with Ben, she likes him, she knows what his limitations are, but the two of them seem to work pretty well together.

The Music of the Night for Keith [he wants that big song!]

I loved the idea of Mr Cellophane for Craig ... I think he may rise to the challenge

I think Lee needs to have something lighter as he has shown intense/dramatic/emotional so maybe he is the one who needs something comic from Little Shop of Horrors or Rocky Horror Picture Show!”

Another idea for Lee - "Dirty Laundry" by Don Hendley. It's a very cynical, dark song about a hard-nosed news presenter, if anyone doesn't know it.
These are the words as near as possible to the beginning:

"I make my living on the evening news,
Just give me something, something I can use,
People love it when you lose - give us dirty laundry."

He did 'Why God Why' as well. It's on the BBC site if Real Player works for you.

Ohhhh; I'd never seen that - I'm sure they only showed him doing "Anthem" on tv?

Agreed. All the youngsters have looked a bit vulnerable out there. Even Keith, who I think has probably handled it best out of the under 20s, has had a couple of moments when I thought he was looking a bit terrified. It's quite endearing and I suppose it does fit the part, but it does make you wander how tough they'd be with a west end audience.

Mwahahahahahahah Go Binny!

Another good song for Lee would be I'm too sexy by right said fred

You know, your choice for Craig is right on so many levels, didn't he sing for a chippendale-type outfit? Also, I'm not sure why, but I would actually love to hear him sing this, I think it would suit him.

But then if you read Daniel's interview on showbis news he says they are not encouraged to listen to their performances and also the band is making it hard for them to hear if they are flat or not.. perhaps ben really didn't realise it like Daniel but we shall see tomorrow night with a very vocally hard song for Ben

The judges and ALW made it pretty clear to ben that he wasn't good in his early performances in case he couldn't hear it himself. I doubt very much he just didn't realise he was terrible.
