I don't think ALW stole Daniels dream, i think daniel seems like a bigger person than to let a random comment by ALW get to him. Daniel has been in this business a while, and i am sure has had people say silly comments before, but it hasn't stopped him from carrying on and i am sure that the show will prove to be good stepping stone for daniel. ALW did say he thinks daniel will have a career, and from what we have seen of daniel on the show he seems like the type of guy who will take that comment on board, and ignore any negative comments.

I looked through but didn't see it, anyway it only received 4 replies, now the debate and it is rightly strong is up to 40+

People say Andrew Lloyd-Webber should not be questioned because of his past success, why? all people in the public eye are open to question and it would be a very sad situation if this ever changed in the UK.

I would like to know what reaction ALW has if any? it will say a lot about him as a Man!

I can't see why ALW is getting all the blame - Daniel had the least votes - if he was that popular then his supporters should have voted.

He said that about Chris B, not about Daniel.

ALW said that he was doubtful whether Daniel had a career in the West End, or words to that extent.

Personally, Daniel is the only one out of that sorry lot that I would pay and leave the house to see.

As well as a stage career (which a couple of them I think are also well capable of, even if they aren't to my taste) I think Daniel could have a recording career with a voice like his.

Can't remember at which stage but he definitely said that he didn't think people would want to listen to Daniel for 2 hours. He may have said it about Chris too, but definitely Daniel, cause I remember thinking first of all 'that would be my idea of heaven' and second of all, not for the first time, 'is ALW actually listening to someone else?'.

Even if ALW doesn't think daniel has got what it takes, i am sure there are other theatre producers etc out there that will think he has. There are also alot of brill musicals that are nothing to do with ALW that i am sure would love to snap daniel up. i think he will do ok.

A lot of the contestants in these talent shows who have gone on to make at least the last 3 or even win have been in the bottom two at one time and for all we know (because other shows aren't as crass as to say who polled the lowest votes out of the bottom two) may well have got the least votes.

But the point is that the judge/judges are there to make sure that if a good one slips down there for any reason, they are saved.

So ultimately, no, it's not his fault that Daniel was bottom but it is his fault that he's out. Look at it whichever way, he went against the whole point of a judges' vote.

I've no doubt he will.

I can't think of any other elimination in this series, not even Seamus', that has had this reaction and this much publicity. Maybe Daniel should send ALW a crate of champagne

What should ALW apologise for? That he chose someone else over your particular favourite? Why the hell should he - he made a choice based on who he thinks is right for the part and it might be wrong in your opinion but then you're not the one who co-wrote the musical or whose name rests on making the right decision.

I really wish Daniel fans would get over themselves seeing it as a personal attack on Daniel and the suggestion that he was in some way worse than Lewis - I don't believe that to be the case at all.

true he's even admited that he made a mistake letting Aoife go in the Maria show. Why is it beyond the relms of possibility that he made a mistake here

I was shocked too - both to see him in the bottom two in the first place and then to see him sent home but thinking back over his previous performances I could see the rationale in it.

He had a good voice but seemed to me to be older than his years and not have that sparkle that would draw an audience in. I think that was what ALW was alluding to with his comment about people not wanting to watch him for two hours. I have to say I did find him a bit too ordinary and MOR which is why (IMO) he lost out on this particular role

I think that Lewis is a more natural Joseph than Daniel, which doesn't take away from the fact that Daniel is a better singer and more complete performer at the moment. While many of us would assume that whoever's better now should stay, ALW obviously preferred to keep the one he'd rather had the part. I was very disappointed by the decision at the time, but I can see where ALW is coming from.

In any case, it's hardly a case for Points of View. What would they report - that one of the most successful men in music theatre chose the contestant with more votes but that fans of the other one aren't happy???

Daniel would make a great Sky Masterson, or perhaps in Cabaret. Cannot remember the name of the person who is opposite Sally Bowles.

In what way is Daniel older than his years? Having seen him in person a couple of times last year but without knowing or asking how old he was, I was very surprised to find out that he was 28. I would have put him at about 24.

If you think Daniel doesn't have "that sparkle", or can't draw an audience in, or is "too ordinary and MOR" then you haven't seen Daniel perform in his element and not the dross that he was given on all but two occasions in this series. Hearing that ALW chose the songs makes sense.

Daniel attracted the attention of one of the most popular composers and producers in rock history and the composer and producer of one of the best-selling albums of all-time, and his casting team. The fact that someone whose works, for all his success, define not just MOR but unrivalled blandness feels that he isn't right for the lead role in his lamest ever offering is a compliment to someone of Daniel's talent.
