O2, end of contract offer
As I have just bought a new N95 on Orange, I had send off my notice to O2.
I just received a phone call apparently from O2 who said they could keep the number active for me and give me 25 mins of calls and 25 texts a month for no monthly charge for 12 months. Has anyone heard of this offer, I am a little suspicious of these things these days, whether it was actually from O2 or not. She said she's sending out paperwork and I can cancel within 14 days though. But cancel what, if I'm apparently not paying for anything? |

Yes i am on this contract. 25mins + texts / month
plus extras because operator changed my contract immediately, which i didnt want because of the cashback deal with mobileshop. Your account is credited with enough monies to cover the cost of the contract. ONLY. I hope that answers for you |

Maybe their thinking since the line is still active you could go over the allowance and spend money with them to be honest you'd be best to just cancel it off that way no bill can be run up.

I dont mind a bill being run up to be honest.
I really like O2 and the day I got Ornage I felt as if I had made a mistake. So I think I will continue to use my O2 number because most likely in 12 months I'll go back to O2 again. |

Leaving O2 can be a real pain. When I canceled last year, I had spend over 30 minutes on the phone while they kept offering one new deal after another. In the end it was 10 months free line rental with 600 minutes and 500 text. I kept saying I wasn't interesed as all I wanted was a new phone which they couldn't offer me.
Leaving Orange was no problem, all they said was: "Fine, your PAC will arrive in the post in two working days". Back with O2 now, so I'll have all this ahead me again when I next want to upgrade my phone. |
