repair to my tv

just dropped off the tv, to the repair man at his house.
his first immpression is, it maybe the frame has gone..

anyone know what he means, and how much it will approx cost to repair.. thanks.......

Yep! - so not a very good set, but they are fairly repairable!.

Hello Paul

Good description. Looks like you have done a bit of research and you are quite right. It's a Vestel 11AK45 chassis.

Sounds like the frame IC and probably the EEPROM (it's memory), it probably thinks it is a toaster.

£30 deposit (which comes off the bill if you go ahead). £45 labour + £35-£45 parts depending on which version.

Somewhere between £80 & £90 then. Think yourself lucky that Sharp did not build the guts to this, as their designs are crap and expensive to repair.

ok latest installment.. repair man, said it is the frame chip, and also 3 burnt out resistors.. total cost £70 ..
question is it worth repairing,,, .....

Yep, if it lasts another year or more then it's cheap entertainment really (you can't rent for 1 year at that price) or put the money towards a new TV......
