It wouldn't matter what they gave Lee to sing, he would make something of it.

It's not the song that matters, it's the singer.

I only wish I could be so sure Mambo
I think he will be okay for this week though
*Laurie prays she hasn't cursed her favourite Joseph*
Hopefully the panel will pick up on his versatility. He needed to do something more light hearted, we've had so much intensity, heart break and psychotic anger.
Well, if anything happens, you can blame me

To be honest - I think Lee (in ALW's eyes) has had this won from the first show. But I will stop talking now, as my views on Mr Mead are v.clear!

But yes, he definately needs something lighthearted. I think "Daydream Believer" will be good for him.

Having just read the latest news on the website, looks like Ben is the one they've stitched up to go this week. There is mention of a ballad with a very high note at the end. I think this is a shame, because I was just getting into his performances. The guy certainly doesn't have the best voice in the competition but he can act Keith, Lewis and Craig off the stage.

Not so much Lee
I read that too but I really hope Ben pulls a great performance out of the bag.

I don't see why giving ben a challenging song for him is stitching him up - after all the other contestants have been challenged/stretched with their song choices, i don't see why just becuase he can only sing one type of song he should be an exception to that rule.

Keith hasn't been challenged.
He has had a range of songs - not all upbeat.

I agree Laurie, I think Kieth is the one contestant not to be challenged, you have to look at hi in group songs to see that he is not at all comfortsinging and dancing at the same time. In his songs he has had to show sadness but no angst and do no other real emotion. That is what I would like to see

I am not making any more predicitions as last week I was so way off the mark! anyone have any idea what Lee's song is yet? It is all down to the song I think - if Lee has been given 'cotton eyed joe' or 'I'm too sexy' we're doomed! (well actually he could prob pull off the Right Said Fred one!!! )

Lee's singing Daydream Believer. Pepsi lipread it from the podcast (genius )
I'm not sure about the actual song, it's a bit 'light', certainly won't show off Lee's great ability and range as a performer, but on the other hand, it will certainly be a great contrast to last week.

I agree. The week Ben was worst on was when he did all by myself (he should have gone after that imo) which was a ballad and he's been given more up-tempo songs that are easier for him since then. Will be interesting to see how he does this week. I hope he goes!

I'm not going to say anything this week about who'll leave as last week I think I cursed Daniel as I said that if he was in the bottom two the other guy would be better just packing his stuff. Then he was in the bottom and went home so no opinion from me about the show.

It looks like Ben is doing Roy Orbison's Crying - vv tricky high ending - no wonder he's worried. Has anyone been able tp lip read any of the other songs apart from Lee and Ben?

I LOVE that song! It's incredibly hard to sing though (believe me, I've tried after a couple of JD&Cokes! ) - if I was Ben I'd be pretty worried too. *gets flashbacks to Antony's first high note in "Patience"*

Just watched video again, don't think Lee is singing Daydream Believer (thank goodness) - he's smiling too much and he wouldn't smile if he had to sing that!

Try watching again i'm sure he is singing the lyrics below

Now you know how happy i can be...

And our good times start to end
Without a dollar one to spend
But how much baby do we really need...

If Pepsi is wrong, I'll eat my beanie hat That's a happy part of the song, so the smiles are pretty much in keeping.

don't be........ it's such a "happy-clappy" (if crappy) song, the audience will get carried away and that always lifts the viewers who may then pick up the phone and vote

I prefer dark, intense, sexy Lee but they had to give him a happy song at some time
