Don't really have to say much else, I agree 100% with your assessment.

I did think it was a bit harsh for ALW to complain that he didn't see courage from Lewis in that song - what line in it comes across as courageous?! Lee could have managed it, but I'm beginning to think Lee could manage just about anything, so I'm obviously biased. I'm not a Lewis fan but I was surprised at his performance, it wasn't bad. I knew he'd get the sympathy vote after the judges' squabble.

I have seen this in Lee from the time he sang 'bad day' - it is good to know that people who previously disliked him can now see how good he is too.

Lee does have charisma - he is not as showy as Ben but he does have a presence on stage - I would only pay to see Lee out of the ones left. I have seen Joseph twice already and would rather see a different musical really than see Joseph again, but if Lee won - I would be straight online booking seats.

I so agree with that apart from the bit about disliking him! I started watching the series a bit late and Lee stood out for me immediately. I was concerned about the duet with Josh Grogan, as whoever sang it could have suffered in comparison. But I was so impressed, not just with the singing but the professionalism Lee showed as well. He has a strong voice, but he demonstrated really good control of it last night. The comments about whether JG actually chose to sing with him I can understand, but I can also see why he would choose Lee. Keith's voice is closer in style to JG and there would have been less differentiation between them and, as a duet, I don't think it would have worked as well - also I don't think Keith would have managed such a good performance.

Ben showed excellent stage presence again at times and, although I see why ALW saved him I hope he doesn't win. All the star quality in the world could not compensate me for a poor vocal performance in a show He may well be able to improve his range, but not enough in the time, and there is no way he would get through 8 shows a week!

That's exactly it - I'd much rather someone who sings brilliantly but seems a bit awkward on stage to someone who just isn't up to it vocally, whatever the compensations.

Last night JB said that "The West End is in need of Lee Mead" not that he was Joseph. Anyone think this is indicative of panel's/ ALW's thinking on who should be Joseph or just a nice litte gag?

Yeah - as great as I think Lee is, and he really is good ... he's absolutely not what ALW keeps bashing on about wanting.

I can't remember if I have posted on this thread or not.

I thought Lee was outstanding tonight with a duff song and Ben great with lots of duff notes but he gave us emotion. He really stood out in the group songs - Dirty Dancing was fabby and think he might have walked Grease. I actually started to get Craig tonight and didn't think he was caberet at all. Lewis better than last week and Keith did well too but wish he and Ben had swopped songs.

I actually hope Lee wins now and Ben comes second only because vocally he needs some more work but I think he has the most amazing stage presence and star quality. Born to be wild was great and he sang his part in tune and beautifully!

Craig did sing better in the sing off - Ben had a few duff notes again and where did that lisp come from!! But of course I am glad he saved my fav (sorry Trixie). The right song for Ben next week may save him to the final . He and Lee would make the most interesting final

Just watched last nights show again, and Lee was amazing with Josh. Showed a vulnerable side but rose to the occasion. Seems to me a really nice guy. Go Lee!!!!

I think in Lee's case, it's to do with his jaw tension.

The tighter he holds his jaw, the less room there is in his mouth for his tongue to move and it creates a lisping type sound.

So I'm guessing when he's warmed up properly and released his tight jaw then the 'lisp' disappears or is less noticeable.

Lee deserves to win. He should get the role of Joseph for a few months and then move on to something more substantial.

I would pay to see BEN and I think he can be Jospeh the same with Keith, I have small doubts about Lewis how emotional he gets. but is better than getting stressed out, remember though that it was Lee who walked out!!!! that for me is very immature, Lee would only ever be a safety first choice with having West End Theatre experience, but that is not the true idea of the show ADWD.

Surely if that was the case, he wouldn't have been allowed to enter?

Don't get the Ben love what other people see as charisma I see as arrogance and immaturity. i don't think he is charismatic at all theres no way I'd pay to see him in a leading role.

Lee didnt ACTUALLY walk out though, he threatened to after he had a tough week. but he carried on and got through the show. I dont think he was immature at all.

Only just been able to watch the show. It just gets weirder and weirder. It was like 'let's show you what they can't do' night. Lewis had a song that suited him more than previous weeks, and though he would have been my choice to go, he did perform much better with it and I disagreed that he was pop rather than theatre. (On another thread I said that JB wouldn't be stupid enough to hold last week against Lewis - sorry, that's me wrong again.)

Otherwise the choices were like sabotage - Ben, great performer but hasn't a great range so let's give him a ballad seasoned pros wouldn't touch; Craig must not be cabaret, so let's tempt him with Elvis; Keith is the best voice in the competition so let's showcase his lack of dance training; and Lee was the best on the night and, yes, of course he should be Joseph, but he isn't young and dreamy to me, he's too focussed and sharp. What's the point of any song where the judges then turn round and say, But you wouldn't have to do that for Joseph anyway? I thought Keith and Ben deserved medals for bravery, Lee did another consistently strong performance (a performance Daniel would have been called 'too nice' for doing, but very good) and Craig really entertained - which in my memory is what Joseph is about, it's not Hamlet.

Overall, I still loved it as telly, though I missed Daniel. Though I think Ben has real talent - he was great in the dance number and, for me, could have walked all over the boys on 'Grease' last night - I thought ALW made the wrong decision - Craig is more ready for Joseph and would be great in the part. At least ALW was warm with Craig, not like last week.

I am not a Lee fan - I can see he's very good but he doesn't make me think 'wow', I wish he did - but I think he should win and I think he deserves to. I just hope that the programme will trust us to see that, and let all of them do songs that are relevant to Joseph from now on.
