How can I convert the audio from a 3GPP video to MP3?
I tried to use Xillsoft 3GPP convert but it keeps failing. Does anyone know how to fix it so it will work or another program that can do the job. The program must be free or very cheap, it will only have to convert one very short clip.

You can convert a 3GP file to MP3. Hell you can convert it to most extensions if you want.

Use Super to do the converting for you. It's simple to use and i recommend it time and again on many forums i use when people ask for a free piece of converting kit.

That link takes you right to the download page, scroll to the bottom and click " start downloading Super "

Where the hell do you download it? Following that link it just takes you to another page which tells you how wonderful it is but the only downloadable link is just a clip of some bloke playing a guitar

Because 3GP is a wrapper with video and/or audio. Indeed when Series 60 phones first came out, audio was in a 3GP format. Obviously you can convert the audio into whatever format you choose.

Just to clear up what I wish to do, I have a 3GPP video (filmed on a w800 phone) I wish to take the AUDIO only from the video and be able to use the audio as a ringtone, so I need to convert it to MP3 formart. At present I can not download the program.

Download Audacity (do a google for it) which is an audio editing tool which records whatever is coming out of your speakers.

Simply play the video clip on your computer and set Audacity to record.
