Philips engineers
Is it possible to get an engineer from Philips to come and look at my television? It's a 36" CRT (so impractical to send away), and there is some motion blurring which may have to do with Pixel Plus, but would like some reassurance on this.

Bear in mind that if the set isn't faulty, even if it's under guarantee, you will be charged for the service call. However, I wouldn't expect a 36 inch CRT to be under guarantee?. |

Philips, like other manufacturers, don't have any engineers, service is done by third parties - there should be a phone number to ring that came with the set - it's actually Domestic & General Insurance in Nottingham, and they will arrange for an engineer to call.

I would suggest phoning John Lewis then?, someone else looking at the TV could void their warranty.

As Nigel says, your guarantee will now be with JL, rather than Philips.
They'll no doubt use a Philips service agent anyway. |
