I got my new Nokia 7250 on vodafone yesterday. I'm on their online tarrif "Vodafone 60 + 120 text". I can make and receive calls, send and receive texts and can access GPRS. But it won't send media messages. Everything appears to be set up correctly but it fails to send every time. Do I need to call them and have MMS activated on my account?

Paul.

Nope, he's on Orange. I also tried sending to my email address but it still failed.

I would take it to your local vodafone store or where you purchased it from as i'm sure they would be happy to help.

Hi there I had the same problem when i received my nokia 7650 about a month ago I had to contact celluar operations which is where I got it from but they also told me to phone a helpline number I think it was 196 from your vodafone, they could tell me wether my account was set up for gprs and that they also sent me a text message with the configuration to send mms messages. However saying that I also have a sharp gx10 on vodafone but I purchased it from my local vodafone store and everything was already up and pre programmed when i walked out of the shop, but the operator on the helpline informed me that the sharp phones have this all pre programmed wether this is untrue i don't know, also was told by celluar ops that i had to get gprs provisioned on my account before i could send mms and use vodafone live! by the way the helpline number is for all vodafone customers hope this helps

When I got my Nokia 7650, the phone itself was set up with the correct configuration to enable picture messaging, but my account hadn't been "opened" to allow it. Give Vodafone Customer Services a call, if you've got the same problem as I had they should be able to sort it for you pretty much straight away.

I had the same problem with my 7210 where it wouldn't send a picture to either another phone or to an e-mail address.

My account was set-up for MMS messaging but still no joy.

It turned out that the message including picture couldn't be larger than 30K in size, once I started to use low res. pictures things worked normally.

With Vodafone aka the worlds biggest rip-off, I expect you would have to ring em.
