A Torchwood set report was posted today, which included the following relevant to ADWD:

"We met him after he'd finished filming and had our photos taken with him. We spoke briefly about Any Dream Will Do, saying we're really enjoying the series, but that we were sad Daniel has gone. He totally agreed and said that it was a "travesty" that Daniel was kicked out."

I'm not at all surprised, I have to say, and I wonder if we'll see or hear about this on Saturday. Lewis is seriously a marked man now -- by John and Denise, and possibly Zoe, too.

I hope the judges are not so shallow and childish as to blame lewis for ALW's decision. they were not happy when he chose ben over seamus, but the didn't take it out on ben, so i doubt the will do so now with lewis. and anyway - the judges have no bearing or say over who stays and goes in the show.

Wow, thanks for that, very interesting. I do wonder how they'll address it in the next show, presuming that they don't just gloss over it. In Maria, JB threw a huge strop when ALW got rid of Belinda and they certainly showed that. There has been a lot of disagreement about the decision on the internet and someone posted an interview with Zoe, in which she said she was shocked and that she had received lots of emails from the outraged public.

It's interesting, cause although JB has championed a lot of the younger Josephs (Ben, Keith) he has never seemed particularly fond of Lewis. Last year, he came down pretty heavily on Meliz (who was saved instead of Belinda) the following week.

I actually feel pretty sorry for Lewis this week, I'd hate to be in his position.

I am sure Lewis is prob quite happy with his position, he's still in the show. and to be honest the judges won't say anything, regardless of what interviews etc say.

I feel sorry for Lewis, and in all fairness it wasn't his fault. I'm sure Daniel wouldn't want him to take the blame, as they seem to be good friends. (Still think it was a stupid decision though!)

Like I say, JB made his opinions very clear to both ALW and Meliz last year. I'd be astonished if he held back.

I read an article after seamus's exit with JB saying how unhappy he was he went and ben stayed, he never said anything on the show about that. I doubt he will bite the hand that feeds him, or should i say pays him.

I don't think "shallow" or "childish" or blaming Lewis is the issue -- it's simply believing a person doesn't belong there anymore. I believe John has said several weeks running now that Lewis was "not Joseph" for him, so it's hardly shallow or childish if he continues to believe that.

He's also been one to consistently and fairly give credit when someone undergoes a turnaround, as he did with Craig last week and with Keith previously. And vice-versa -- even though he's been a champion of Ben's from the beginning (and is the only reason he made the top 12), he still thought Seamus should have stayed over Ben.

And while the judges have no direct impact, I do believe their opinions have a certain amount of influence over the audience.

I wonder if there will be some mention of it on the show this week? The decision does seem to have angered a lot of people. I do hope that Lewis isnt blamed at all. I actually thought he did extremely well in the sing-off. Daniel was just that much better.

No way should Lewis be blamed - it is not a matter of that, it's not the judges, it is just the way Andrew Lloyd-Webber expressed himself very badly on a TV Show.

It is so reminiscent of Simon Cowell with Will Young, remember Will did not have it and Gareth Gates was going to be so much bigger than Will and sell loads more albums?? - LOL

If BEN should become Joseph, he is the only one who perhaps could have a pop/theatre career from who is left - but I have not one doubt that DANIEL BOYS will do well and sell albums from his WEST END success in the future and have a long career.

The BBC pays him, not ALW.

I think Daniel was booted out because he wasn't the people's Joseph. It did strike me as odd though, because ALW stated afterwards it was the 'acting' on Lewis's part that pinched it. Um, didn't Denise say Daniel was the best? He ain't taking any notice of the other judges it seems. I don't know about this JB 'storming out' rumour, but I know they must be very attached to the boys by now and it appears that Daniel was well liked. Maybe its personal upset and not a professional injustice in his mind?

I reckon ALW will want to 'discover' a new talent anyway. Lee is ready established, and forgive me, but he's too good to be Joseph singing "Any Dream Will Do." This is a poppy musical ingrained on our brains since childhood. I really think its 'if the face fits' and sadly for Daniel, it didn't. Lee doesn't fit in my box of ingredients either. He's too 'dark' (and I'm not talking about his hair lol) and will make THE best Phantom 2 <hint hint ALW >

The gbp may well repeat history and go for the nearest thing to Jason Donovan, as they did last year choosing the closest thing to Julie Andrews = Connie Things could be looking good for Craig then ! He's showing most vocal consistency (mega mega important) and he has a habit of making people feel such warmth and happiness he's becoming difficult to dislike. He's definitely right up there. And I don't take any notice of the bookies - they got it so wrong last week didn't they !

Some of what they judges say, either on the night or in interviews afterwards, is about generating publicity for the show and for themselves. I can't see ALW losing any sleep over it!

JB, Zoe and, I think also Denise, made clear their unhappiness with ALW saving Craig over Chris B, and the former hasn't suffered. I doubt it will be a factor for Lewis.

I don't think it will affect Lewis either. JB is fair and if Lewis shows that he is worth his place next week JB will give him credit.

How stupid of course he's not a marked man by the judges. They won't blame Lewis at all. Some of this anti-Lewis stuff on here is getting out of hand. The lad has done nothing wrong, it wasn't his fault he was saved and not Daniel.

Plus I'm sure Daniel would be really upset to see what is being said especially after he said himself on Breakfast the other morning what good friends him and Lewis had become (or how close they were, sorry can't remember the exact wording)

ALW is adament this is the last reality show he is doing.. Now if JB is hoping to be cast in the Phantom sequel.... it would probably be wise to keep quiet!!

Controversy is good for the progamme. It gets people watching. ALW doesn't care about disagreeing with the panel and he won't care if they disagree with him. When you think of all the insults and vicious things people have said of him over the years, he really isn't going to care. I think he enjoys it, just as he clearly enjoys playing up to the camera by pulling faces, etc. He's on this because he loves being on Saturday night TV - he could have just hired Lee and put on the production if that was all he cared about. Everyone on the programme must love all the fuss about Daniel. 'Shock exits' are a staple of programmes like this, the more controversial the better.

The programme loves whipping up division between the Josephs, between the judges, etc, etc. I think it's very telling that the Josephs are pretty much forced to be rude about each other every week, but I wouldn't have known that Daniel and Lewis were such great friends or Rob and Craig until their interviews after they had been voted off. I think the sing-off would have been even more emotional (I don't know if I could have survived even more emotion) if I had known that Lewis and Daniel were so close, but no, they want us to think that they are all at each other's throats, I don't know why. It's all very childish - the programme makers not the Josephs.

But I don't think JB will blame Lewis, because he isn't that stupid. It wasn't Lewis's fault he was saved - it wasn't his decision. And JB was no mad fan of Daniel's. Graham will probably say to ALW 'Did Lewis justify your saving him' and ALW will say if he didnt. He was quite willing to say to Ben he'd been wrong to save him (which was when Ben got upset with him, as I would have, I have to say). I'm going on but all I mean is they love the fuss, they aren't bothered by it.

ALW is in talks about doing jesus christ superstar next - he has told the BBC that if they won't do it, he'll take it to america. BBC abit cautious as they are worried it may be to contoversial as it has a religous theme. ALW has also confired there will be NO phantom sequel.

Where did you get that bit of information from? Only in the last week I read somewhere that ALW couldn't wait to get back to writing music again and was itching to get started on the Phantom Sequel.

I don't know anything about a Jesus Christ Superstar show, but if the BBC is worried about religious controversy, then I hardly think that it will go down well with Americans who are far more religious than us godless Brits .

but in britain its the political correctness gone insane thats the prob thats got them worrying. and my friend told me about ALW's plans, i also read it somewhere after she had told me.
