I read that as well so it must have been the Daily Mail or Mail on Sunday

Doesnt Joseph have a religious theme too? Granted not such a strong one.

I thik its because the title for starters of jesus christ superstar might still up reactions from some groups of people, i think the BBC are just concerned. I think it is a shame that they need to be!

As I already said it's NOT a question of "blame" -- and calling me stupid is uncalled for.

I guess you didn't see Maria last year after Meliz was saved over Belinda? It was made pretty clear to her that it was felt she didn't belong there, and would have to work and earn her way back to demonstrate otherwise. That's what I mean -- it isn't an issue of "blame" and I never used that word.

(Meliz didn't last much longer, either.)

Meliz was made to feel like she didn't belong there throughout the whhole show, it was nothing to do with belinda.

This is very true, JB was quite candid with Meliz and she went out that week.

No offense Cleo, but this is utter rubbish. Did you actually watch the first show? She sang Son of a Preacher Man and brought the house down, the panel and Andrew were falling over themselves to tell her how fantastic she was.

I think we have wandered a bit off topic here!

I would love it if JB showed his annoyance about Daniel leaving on Sat.........but I won't hold my breath!

But right from the start they knew she wasn't maria because of her accent - they never hid that fact! being brill doesn't mean being brill for the part - oh, and you mean rubbish in YOUR opinion.

Seriously, when you don't know what you're talking about, it's usually better to keep quiet, not plough on.
You're mixing Meliz up with Simona

It's odd because I never thought JB was much of a fan of Daniel what with his beige comment, and his criticism of Daniel for being too nice/samey in his performances. I know he was not keen on Lewis either, but I'm a little surprised to hear that JB would have been that annoyed with the result.

However, I think that the result of last Sat's show has seemed to have generated some interest. I would be surprised if they did not capitalise on this.

Sorry, i was confused. i have a life so don't have every moment from a tv show emblazed on my mind. But i still don't remember the judges acting in an unprofessional manner, which, you are clearly claming they did.

Ah, but certain daniel fans seem to think everyone is a massive daniel fan

Well this is pretty much the only TV show I really watch, so forgive me if I don't worry too much about that little jibe. I'm perfectly happy with my life, thanks awfully

I don't know how to say it in language that you'll understand, but last year, in Maria, JB disagreed with Andrew's decision and threw a strop after the show. This incident was shown in the following weeks show and JB again stated that he disagreed with Andrew's call. After Meliz's performance, JB said that one of his favourites had gone out because of her and that she had a lot to do to convince him that she should still be in the competition.

This is not something that I made up, it is what actually happened. You say you don't remember it, but it's obvious that your recollections of the show are pretty hazy, as you have already mixed up two of the contestants.

And as other posters have said, this is off topic and I am bored. But just trying to state the facts.

I think he was trying to spur Daniel on by telling him where he needed to improve, although he did it in a rather heavy handed way.

I don't think he was a particular fan of Daniel's though -
probably just appreciated a good voice, like most knowledgable people.

as i said - i don't remember JB acting in an unprofessional manner by playing fav's, but, if he did do then fair enough, as i said i don't have every moment of a tv burned into my mind, it just was entertainment, not my entire life! so, does pretty much only watching one tv show mean you become so obsessed you remember every single thing about it a year later?!

Yes, I think this is true. Daniel wasn't among JB's little group of favourites (Ben, Keith, sometimes even Craig) but he definitely appreciated him very much. The night Daniel sang The Lady is a Tramp, JB picked him as his joseph. I agree that the 'beige' comment was just designed to spur him on, I don't think for a second JB thought Daniel was in danger. I also agree with a poster on another thread who said that he'd just thought up a witty comment and wanted to use it on someone.

The other thing to remember is that JB didn't seem to rate Lewis very highly at all. Which is odd, cause in general he championed the younger ones, just not him.

I did enjoy Maria, but maybe I just have a good memory, and manage not to get the contestants confused

I don't even know if you are aware that you do it, but you make your points so aggresively and you are so sure of your own opinion, that it can be a little annoying when it turns out that you've actually got the facts wrong.

I have a good memory, but the tv show maria wasn't actually of any importance to me, generally tv isn't, so the contestants are not etched into my mind, and i am not bothered about getting them mixed up, as i said previously, i got confused over people who were on a reality tv show a year ago.

so you don't thik that just maybe JB said the beige comment because he didn't like daniels performance? because YOU are a daniel fan, does that mean you cannot accept that maybe not everyone thought every performance he did was great? I like Lee, but i can accept that people may not love every performance he does. JB wasn't impressed with daniels performance, as he made clear with his comments, its not the end of the world.
