I heard ALW say it on the Jonathan Ross radio show. Straight out of his mouth - that was a few weeks ago. No more reality shows and straight on to the Phantom sequel. He talked at length about it and said he was uber-excited.

Sorry, I choose to believe what he says.

Although Graham saying "Is Daniel Joseph? - you decide..." isn't quite the same as "Is Daniel Jesus? You Decide....!"

And ITV could rival it with a recasting of Jerry Springer the Opera.

Laughs! Yes see what you mean! I suppose they could always try to cast either Mary Magdalene or Judas, which I've always thought was the better part anyway. Although, that was until I saw Steve Balsamo in 1997. (yes I'm that old!) Half the forum members are saying "Steve Who?". If anyone out there knows who I mean, be good to know.

Anyway, back to the important stuff. Looking forward to tomorrow- controversial or not.

I'm even older..... I had a HUGE crush on Ted Neely when the film came out in the early 70's

I saw Steve Balsamo as well, so I know who he is!

So that this post is on-topic: It's all very well JB now saying it was a "travesty" Daniel was kicked off, but who described him as "beige" hmm? That comment might've influenced people's voting choices...

Thanks to those of you who also remember Steve and I will have a look on YouTube. Wonder what he's doing now.

But, to keep us on track, That's right - He did say "beige" which I'm sure did influence the voting. I think though that he probably never thought for a minute that ALW would save Lewis over Daniel. My other half has a theory that ALW has come to see Daniel as more of a "Les Mis" or something similar than a Joseph. Who knows. I'm still puzzled.

I agree with you but it doesn't explain some of the unnecessary comments made by ALW last week. Tonight should be interesting. I wonder if they will make a feature of Daniel's 'shock' exit, including John Bs reaction or if they will ignore it completely.

I await with Baited breath" to see if John Barrowman says anyhting about his "beige" comment - he could always say that it was a line that was "fed" to him by the producers and had to say - it is getting so easy to get cynical about these shows.
Then to Mr Andrew Lloyd-Webber, will Ben Elton have called him again or perhaps Sir Cameron Mackintosh to tell Andrew he got it truly wrong last week with regards DANIEL!

Andrew I trust you will say something! at least about your totally uncalled for unprofessional comments last week.

I agree - ALW probably still thinks he was right to say what he did ... and there will probably be nothing said at all.

I really hope they mention it......don't they normally say something about the last week's exit?

I doubt they will do - no reason to say anthing really have they.

From what I can gather, there's been a bit of backlash (outside this forum) about Daniel's exit, so I am expecting a passing reference. What I'd like is a shot of one of the panel throwing a temper tantrum like JB did over Belinda's exit from Maria last year but I think ALW would like to play down Daniel's exit, so I doubt that'll happen.

But showing the controversy would make better TV so maybe they will.

As someone else said they is usually a passing reference to the previous week's exit.

ok sorry, I know its me that brought it up. Which one are you referring to - Steve Balsamo or Ted Neely. BTW I had a look at the YouTube snippet of Steve doing Gethsemane. Thanks so much for telling me about it. Probably a question for a new thread, but of those who are familiar with Steve Balsamo and maybe saw his Jesus, do you think any of our Josephs come up to his standard? I dont say one way or the other, I simply pose the question.

I apologise again for straying from the point.

Or "well done, you're still in with a chance of being Jesus"?

Judas is the best part in that show anyway, gets all the good songs. Those who saw Steve Balasamo, did you see Zubin Varla too? Just going off vocal, I think he's the best Judas there's been.
