Application Videos

In the run up to Big Brother 3 last year they shown application videos throughout the day, Anyone know if they do that this year?

I hope they do, then all those people who applied thinking that they'd get selected can now look forward to the humilation of their videos being broadcast to the nation. They probably didn't tell anyone they were applying either, so their family, friends and colleagues will now get to see them running down the road naked screaming "pick me".

I think naked and screaming will be out this year..I suspect there will be a lot of people claiming they're really down to earth and (more importantly) upfront and what you see is what you get.......

...although...what you see is what you get seems to inicate that you have to personal character depth whatsoever and anyone can see what you're like just by glancing at you...that would be a bit sad.

What you see is what you get is boring. I want people with hidden depths. There have to be some housemates this year who have a certain je ne sais quoi, ones who make you want to know more. Unfortunately, as was the case with Sunita, they may have to compete with the in your face types though. I would like housemates like Anna, Mel and Nick. I'm not saying don't throw in a few Jades, Helens and Caggies along the way, but just get the ratio right. I would also like to see a male housemate be the first to be evicted this year for a change. They need a male housemate who will be really temperamental, go off the rails a bit and get on everyone's nerves for that to happen. They've had plenty of female housemates like that.

Well I'd have booted Sandy out after an hour of his miserable company!
Then you would have had a male out first.I wont call him a man, because he's too offensive to get that title.

Personally, I like a bit of grit in my oysters.... Just like the gritty Alex became a beautiful pearl.....

I don't think they will show the application vids until after they have put them in the house as I think a few people in bb3 mentioned when they had seen the application videos of other people.

I know, I remember PJ asking the others if they'd seen the application videos shown on E4. He also said it was no wonder that most of them didn't get picked as there were some really "sad" people applying. How did he get in then?

It still wouldn't stop them from showing the application videos though. If any of the hm's start to talk about them, they'll just dip the sound, won't they?

Does anyone remember that, before BB3, they showed a documentary called something like " How Not To Get On Big Brother "

The basic message was that screaming "pick me !!", being "wacky" and taking your clothes off gets your video binned.

So how come they still end up with a dozen screaming exhibitionists.

They're the only ones who apply, that's why. I remember seeing the advert for the first series on channel4 asking for people to apply to be filmed going about their day-to-day business in a specially designed house. It was just like an advert asking for people to go on 15 to 1 or something, you wouldn't have thought anything of it. There'll never get applications like they had the first time around now, people who just wanted to be in it for the experience.

Like Caggie and Nichola, you mean?

In other words, whatever BB says, we will definitely end up with Club 18-30 Ibiza Villa every year from now on, 'cos they are the only people who will apply ?

You'd think that out of 100,000 applications or whatever they could pick a bit more of a cross section, though. Surely there must be a few people who apply who are not louts or laddettes.

Well, I see what you mean about Caggie and Nichola may have been a bit pre-disposed to attention seeking but I still think that some of the BB1 lot were more in it for the experience rather than the exposure and they didn't have a clue how the programme would be produced. For all they knew, it was just some boring documentary every week on channel 4 which not many people would be interested in.

Yes, the wannabe aspect existed even in BB1 but to a lesser extent.

I was going to remind Achtung of those two but it developed a little into a more general question of why all the real nutters are women ?

I'm thinking Caggy, Nichola, Penny and Jade, maybe Narinder as a runner up

I'm sure they wouldn't let a male nutter in, but they seem quite happy to let female nutters in

Well, Nasty Nick was a nutter but, because he was less loud than any of those female nutters, it was not immediately obvious that he was a nutter.

Lots of things describe Nasty Nick, sly, deceptive, strategic even, but I wouldn't call him a nutter

Errr, what about Helen. I think she would have got on very well with Jade in particular....

What are the odds that the 14 lucky applicants walk in and someone says "Well. we're all winners here"...that would just about sum it up......

That reminds me- last week i read something in a paper i think it was the daily mail about what revealing dresses did for different women and it mentioned helen at the premiere of planet of the apes and saying that her popularity had already slid by then. I wonder what she's doing now?

I just hope all this celebrity endorsement still leaves plenty of time for blinking.. A girl must have a hobby, after all.
