This is quite a difficult for EE to tackle...its important to show this kind of thing happens but not to scare elderly people into thinking this happens alot

Speaking of extras, (sorry to go off-topic here!) what is Tracey's purpose of being behind the bar at the Vic? She only ever nods her head or says "Yeah" to anyone in any episode she appears in. Why isn't she a part of the soap???

She's been in it donkey's years....she used to help behind the bar when Angie and Den ran it!!!
I guess she's not been made part of the soap cos they just never did...they just didnt see the point
Some extras get a few speaking lines and some just stand there and say nothing and look kind of blank...which makes me mad...

Big Ron was probably the best extra EE ever had. Plus he got a few lines also!

Tracey and Winston have been in the prog since 1986 but I cannot recall them speaking to each other.
Having said that they have had 17 years steady work without having to do a lot.
There are no similar characters in Coronationb St or Emmerdale

The actress playing Tracey is very lucky she has gotten paid for all those years and has hardly had to learn any lines. You may think it's bad for her not gettting paid the same as everyone else but she will get maybe £300 a day, every day even if she is not needed so it adds up to a huge amount. It also means that she is free to do other work sometimes as they only need her a tiny bit each day whereas all the other EE people need to ask at least a year in advance if they want to do panto.

Oh I dont know...there are a couple who've appeared in the Rovers a few times over the years....dont know about Emmerdale cos I hardly ever watch it

I really don't mean to argue, but somehow I don't think she would get £300 a day! Whats more, she only does a cameo in Eastenders every week or so! Wouldn't it be funny if she was in a pay dispute next with the EE managers?!

I've watched EE from the first episode...its probably why I am such a fervent defender of it

As an extra the equity minimum is something like £200/day and every day you asked for even if you are not needed then you are paid.
