Although there are too many to mention, it has to be either :-

One Night In Bangkok - Murray Head (1984)
Two Tribes 12" inch version (all 9 minutes of it!) - Frankie Goes To Hollywood (1984)
Don't Tell Me - Blancmange (1984)
OR
Genetic Engineering - OMD (1982)

Nice thread.

A nightmare if it has to be just one though....

Still thinking....back soon........I'm going to limit myself to one track.

This one:

http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance...things-she-sai

Their 'Glittering prize: 81/92 greatest hits' is probably my most listened to album ever and that is my favourite track off it.

The lyrics are pretty incomprehensible, as usual with Simple Minds (possibly one of the main reasons why they never achieved more success), but the Tune, vocals and arrangement are fantastic in my opinion.

It needs to be heard through a good Hi-Fi system to be fully appreciated in my opinion as the production (By Bob Clearmountain and Jimmy Iovine) is awesome.

Tough call really. But I guess I'd plump for

Every Breath You Take - The Police or
Alone - Heart or
Summer of 69 - Bryan Adams

I'd go for When Love Breaks Down any day, but King of Rock and Roll is a little pop classicl.

That's what I thought of as soon as I saw the thread title. It just screams out 80s in every note.
