My 'good phone' is on all the time, mostly on silent.
My 'rubbish phone', which came free with my laptop, is only on when I need it... don't want it going off in class (I don't trust silent mode being totally silent :P )

I don't believe it.
You're thirteen and have two phones. I didn't even have one until I was sixteen.
My own phone is on silent more often than not - and my company phone is generally on 24/7; having said that, I've switched the company phone off this afternoon because tomorrow is my first and only day off in nearly a month, and I don't want disturbed - not even if the place was to burn down.
I work nights, but only on alternate weeks, and I turn it off when I sleep because nobody can ever seem to remember which week I'm working and which I'm not. My mum and a couple of close friends are the only people who have my landline number so that's there for emergencies, but I doubt I'd hear it anyway!
I don't take my mobile into the bedroom, it's usually left in the kitchen or living room, I wouldn't be woken by it ringing, never mind a text message.
I don't switch it off but I leave it on silent. My phone has these cool blue lights around the keypad, so if I'm just dozing I can see the lights flashing away
Mine goes off at night and doesnt get turned back on until I leave the house the next day. I don't really need it at home I can talk to people on MSN or I'm away playing my Wii and don't wanna be disturbed anyway lol. Nothing worse then in a crucial moment in a game, trying to concentrate and *BEEP BEEP* to screw it up. Though I don't need to worry about noise at the moment anyway lol
Mine's on all day but I turn it off when I go to bed because I don't want to be disturbed when I'm having a nice dream and don't really want radiation pumping through my brain whilst I sleep (I put it on my bedside table).
I leave my good phone on all the time, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year(unless i am on a plane or something).
My other phones (old ones), which there are about 5 or 6 of them, i leave turned off most of the time unless i need more than one phone with me or just to check i havn't recieved any messages on old numbers.
i leave my phone on all the time, in case anyone wants to call me. My friend was goiong through a bad time, and would sometimes need to text or talk to me at night. I do also in I am tired I set my phone, so only GOOD friends and not work can call me.
I have a broken handsfree kit plugged into my charging dock, and have the profiles set to no ring on wired handsfree - hence it automatically goes on silent at night. Not that it actually matters as I sleep through texts being sent saying the air con at work has failed (and i've slept though a fire alarm (test) in halls too (while 100% sober))...
