Its just a discussion does there need to be a point? We don't always have to talk about problems we are having sometimes people just wanna chat in general about phones and I don't see whats wrong with that. This is a discussion board after all.

Anway last night was the first night I left my phone on in ages and just as me and the misses where dozing off someone text me and and whole room lit up lol

I have a Nokia 6280. My mate has the same phone and his screen is only half as bright as mine lol, He has it on 3 though and I have an unlocked one so don't know if that makes a difference. Also hes had his ages I've only had mine since feb.

My 6280 used to do the same, only had it for a while. Was vodafone locked and branded but kept freezing and restarting so it had to go, shame...

Do you get dust behind the screen? My 5300 is a very similar design to yours, and it's starting to gather dust under the cover. I can't take it off to clean it either

When i had my 6280 it never had the dust problem. Would have kept it if it wasnt for the freezing and restarting problems

The dyst can be removed from a 6280 anyway just take the cover off you can do it with your fingers. I did/do.

Mine's on 24/7 - 'Silent' at night, but on vibrate. Then on 'general' during the day.

I never turn my phone off. Just put it on Silent at work as i'm not even supposed to have it on me but I put it on vibrate although can get awkward if i'm on a till and phone goes off!

I keep mine on all the time. Only time I will turn it off is on a plane or if the battery goes dead.

I just keep it on vibrate at night. It's just in case something happens to one of my friends while they are out or if they just want a chat. Afterall friends should be there for each other no matter what.

Actually most people I know keep their phone on at night.

I always turn my mobile off at night, if it's really urgent (God forbid!) My home number is free!

Mine is always on, on ascending ring tone & text tone

I work for an online based company; if anything goes wrong I’m sent some alert text messages, so I can get up and help get things resolved.

I leave mine on in case one of my friends or family need to contact me. They don't generally phone me after 9.30 unless it's important.
One of my aunties used to be quite bad for random texts at stupid o'clock. I did leave my phone out of the bedroom at night then. The reasoning being that a random text was unlikely to wake me, but if someone actually phoned, which they were unlikely to do unless it was important, I would still hear it.
Now it lies on the floor beside my bed.

You could set up a Night profile which used a silent alert for texts but did ring for calls.

I never turn my phones off. I do get woken up by the occasional phone call or text but I generally don't mind

I turn mine on when I arrive in work or when I've eaten my breakfast on a day off & turn it off about an hour before bed. And, of course, off when I'm in church or a cinema.
