the show opened with alw praising all the josephs (except keith). it then showed ben mouthing off keith. he then got a really bad song choice and the video before his song was portraying him in a really bad light. the josh groban video also portrayed him in a bad light. then, when all the josephs had to jump, they picked on the point that keith never caught the bar. graham norton also mentioned v. frequently how craig and keith were both scottish, as if they wanted one of them to go.

is it just me or do other people think this??

I thought Keith did really well last night - his was my second favourite performance, after Lee.

Ben bad mouthing him showed Ben up, not Keith. The Josh Groben thing made him look gutted not bitter IMO. My lasting impression of bitterness was from Ben. The task day i just found funny and if anyone came out of it looking bad i'd say it was Lewis who was shown to be a complete wuss - again!!!!

No all in all i think it was an ok night for Keith.

I think that Keith was just gutted not to be singing with his musical idol as well - and I did feel for him. Re the mission I think it's a bit unkind to call Lewis a Wuss he did complete the jump even though he was scared and Lee said afterwards that it was the scariest thing he had ever done.

I don't think it was unfair, but if so, it clearly didn't have too much effect, as Keith got through on the public vote!

My friend is absolutely Keith mad, (she really felt for him re: the whole Josh Groban scenario) but I don't see the attraction myself. He has a good voice (which is kind of what the show's about, I suppose ), but I don't think he's one to really rave about. When he did "Who am I" and "Love is All Around", I did begin to understand him, but after that I just totally disconnected with him, for some reason.

So: Was last night's show unfair towards Keith? I don't think so. Seamus had to put up with it every week when he was there.

Although Lee is good, I just get a little fed up of him being pushed at us. It's become a farce with ALW so blatently favouring him. If anything Keith has the strongest singing voice, and has some personality with it.

I felt for him. If I was to meet David Bowie and then find out that someone else had been chosen to sing with him, i'd "accidently" push them down the stairs. Lee had a lucky escape if you ask me!

How is ALW favouring Lee? He gets good comments because he deserves them. They all have an equal chance of getting good comments.

As for the Josh thing - it was Josh who made the decision to pick Lee and they sounded fantastic together

But is it possible that ALW had some input into Josh's decision and what about ALW booting out two serious rivals in Seamus and Daniel

I think the josh thing shook keith a lot, he's always been secure in his voice and sees himself as the best singer.
Where he accepts he's not the best actor or dancer of the bunch.

I think Keith has great talent and potential. Quite frankly I think that, by experiencing the disappointment and criticism he did last night, he should take it on board and grow with it.

If he seriously wants to pursue a theatrical career he will have to take knocks and disappointment. It's never going to be plain sailing for anyone - as I'm sure Lee knows already.

I want Keith to make the final he deserves that accolade. I just feel that he needs to hone his skills a bit more and then reap the rewards in the future.

IMO this is the start of decreasing Keith's popularity. They did it with Seamus particularly. I think ALW wants Lee and while I don't disagree with that I believe the only potential competition with Lee is now Keith. The other two have been in the bottom two several times and clearly don't have the support that Lee and Keith have. If Keith goes it ensures that Lee should win on the public vote. So this week and next I think Keith will be shown as petulant, Lewis as a big baby and Ben as moody while Lee will get shown in as best a light as possible. To be honest I think Keith while I like his voice just seems so young to be Joseph and that Lee is the only real contender and would be a worthy winner but when the edits start portraying people as goodies and baddies you never know if the winner wins because of edits or because of their talent. Shame it happens really...

actually, i think they picked on lewis alot more than keith - keith has had it easiest out of all the contestants all through the show - his performance was embarassing last night, and he still got praise.

I think Josh picked who he wanted simple, and ALW seems to favour ben more than anyone - he saves him even when he is scarily bad!

I am still sad and sore over Daniel being ousted, he WAS Joseph for me right from his first appearance, so it kind of knocked the stuffing out of us but I find the whole thing so addictive I had to watch last night's episode. And I agree I thought they were being consistently unkind to Keith who in my view is now the front runner; he has a very pleasant voice and bags of stage presence. This week I found his song a pretty dire choice for his voice but he extracted ass much as he could from it, I think. Little wonder he couldn't 'keep focused' as the Panel complained, the bloody lyrics were repetative and boring, NOT Keith's fault. Lee was given the perfect song to showcase his voice, on the other hand. All along I feel he's been groomed as favourite and Daniel's outrageous exit last week confirmed that to a lot of us. As for Lewis, in some ways he may be the most naturally timid but that makes it all the more impressive that he gets through all these awful knockbacks. He's a determined wee bugger and I can't help feeling immense admiration for him on that score. Young, inexperienced, timid but he could yet surprise us all as Joseph!! Craig had the real raw deal this week: his singing was markedly superior to Ben's and for a mere 'smile' ALW ditches him! Ben, full of bounce and sex appeal but sadly incorrigibly awful vocals: if I heard that on stage I'd feel cheated. Give us the one and only Daniel Boys back, he'd melt the audience in seconds!!

......swings and roundabouts...... Lee had some really difficult, intense pieces with "All Right Now" and "Paint It Black" 2 weeks in a row - it was his "turn" to have a fluffy, light song

What about the week when Lee had a bad throat? All the panel's comments, including ALW, were very harsh.

Lee generally gets good comments cos he's bloomin good!

I agree - he has had some hard songs, and personally i think daydream believer is a terrible song so i don't think he had an easy ride at all.

I don't think Keith seems at all arrogant especially given what an amazing and powerful voice he has, definitely the strongest voice left in the competition.
Keith is the only other person who has never been in the sing off which may be alarming ALW who I don't think wants him as Joseph. Hence trying to introduce some negative spin.
I don't see him as Joseph right now but I do think he has a great career in musicals ahead of him.

..and it was the producers who took the decision to make one contestant get the chance to perform more songs than the rest. This is in itself unfair - irrespective of who actually won the competition or who benefits from it. Given the fact that there are so many other factors which cannot be controlled and do have an effect on voting (judges and contestents comments for example) surely its not too much to ask that at least each contestant gets a fair and equal chance to impress the public, who after all, are the ones who decide who is kept in? Its not a difficult thing to do, and you don´t have to be a rocket scientist to appreciate its the only fair way to do things in a talent contest.

You miss my point completely. They werent just ´singing with Josh´....they were singing to the voting public - getting an extra chance to draw in more votes. I said that all the contestants should get an equal chance to perform to the public - as they are the ones who vote and decide on who goes and who stays - not Josh and his personal opinion that decides on who gets more coverage. You could have got someone else in who would have picked someone else entirely. Just as all the members of the panel have differing opinions. Its all a matter of opinion, and there are more than enough additional factors that bias things. At least let them get a chance to perform on equal terms to the general public and they can make their own opinion from that.

Going by your reasoning that its all fair since they all got a chance to perform to Josh - should we let them all have a ´ fair and equal chance´ to perform in front of Denise next week (in private) - and she can decide who gets to sing an extra song in next weeks show? No one can complain then, since they all got the same chance to sing to her. Is that how it works? Not in my book. A talent competition should give equal amount of performance time to each contestent. End of. There are many small factors that can bias things which cannot be controlled, but surely giving them all the equal opportunity to perform is a fundamental part of a talent contest that should be maintained?
