I took out a 12 month contract 12 months ago , it got my Son the SE w550i Phone he wanted

It only offered 200 mins and 100 texts , it was an offer via Dailaphone , the offer was

7 months free and 5 months @ £30 , so effectively 12 month contract for £150 , refund by redemption which worked fine with DAP refunding quickly and no problems

My wife also got £40 discount from DAP for reccomending a friend for this contract , reducing it further to £110 per the 12 month or around £9 per month

The phone also came with free SE speakers and the limited edition black phone cover.

All in all a good deal ? , it got him the phone he wanted for the equiv of around £9 per month

I took the sim card and the mins and text and used them in my unlocked phone , he put in his 02 PAYG card.

A few months ago I went massivly over the 200 mins and landed a monthly bill of over £100 , I found out as the account cap kicked in and calls were barred until I freed it back up , which I was greatful for.

I enquired of 02 at this time that 200 mins , 100 texts was a bit dire , the operator agreed , even though the total deal was a reasonable deal with redemption , free items and R A F.

They now offered me a 400 mins and 100 texts , part way through my contract for the same price £30 per month

It was a £35 tariff but this was offset by a £5 credit automatically been applied to my account this again happened and caused no problem

Now my 12 month contract is ending and 02 have offered me direct .............

All for £25 pound per month ( wonder if the auto £5 credit will still get applied )

The Cs operator said I had a average monthly spend of £66 so didn't want to lose me , only the once have I ever gone over the monthly inclusive minutes , I really don't understand where his £66 average came from

I reckoned my monthly spend over the 12 months was really around £30 to £35 and was inflated by the one of large bill

Is this a decent upgrade deal from 02 ? , it works out at £25 per month where the last contract worked out at around £9 per month after redemptioms and RAF deal , but for a lot less inclusive minutes and texts

I know that other providers offer some good monthly deals but we like the 02 contract as it allows the use of 0870 and 0845 numbers as part of your inclusive minutes , where as my wife and sons new contract on 3 don't
