After last weeks episode I am sure that Katie is flirting with Sir Alan in the board room. I don't think that Sir Alan is so stupid that he would let something like that influence him.

It is that thing she does with her eyes. I think it is the way she talks to him too.

After reading what I read today I would not be surprised.

Does anyone agree?

I agree, it certainly seems like she is.

Yeah, I do agree. But I think it's her way of dealing with men actually. It's a mix of flirting, teasing, and challenging. I guess men feel honoured with the attention and respond to it.

Yes unless she has some nervous tic when she looks at 'Hermesetas'.

No. However, the BBC 2 show keeps telling us she is.

Sadly, yes. It makes her look like a bit of a nutter.

I think she is keeping the atmosphere light, which is important when she is being criticised. She is creating a space in which Sir Alan can go on at length about her being a loser without hurting her. This is good for the both of them.

I expect Sir Alan appreciates it and prefers it to someone behaving like a sulky teenage being told off by their parents. As long as she can be serious when necessary, which she can.

True I wish she would stop

It's similar to what Abi Titmus does when speaking to men.

Yes it is! Well spotted.

I know a girl who flirts the exact same way. Its actually a tad cringing.

I think she thinks she's flirting. It's that really tragic unreciprocated flirting though, so she just - as you say - looks a bit of a nutter.

I guess I can't believe she's doing it in the boardroom. Even if it was reciprocated it's totally inappropriate and alienates everyone around her (and the people watching).

I think she's a bit patronising towards him as well, like she thinks she's superior and knows better than him. I've been on the receiving end of that type of attitude from advertising types like her and it's very annoying.

It is like she is flirting by numbers:
1:The Princess Di "head down to side look up through eyelashes" stance.
2: The Abi Titmus "Go on then, I dare you twinkle"
3: The Thatch "lowering voice and speaking sincerely and
quietly"
4: The Black Beauty "imperious flaring of nostrils and whinnying"

Well, when she is shown talking to Sir Alan, its clear she is sometimes flirting. You'd have to be a fan, blind or both to not see it.

Flirting? Don't be ridiculous! She's old enough to be his mother!

Flirting!

Well if Katie was a dog (no obvious comments please) she would be rolling on her back to have her tummy tickled..

on another tack if she was a dog which type of dog should she be

ps a bitch is not a dog

serious? she completely loses control and gets personal - she's the least unprofessional person in the boardroom so far

mind you, seeing the 'creating a space in which Sir Alan can...' comment above, you appear to be exactly like her. What does that even mean?

The worst thing is he might actually like it. He hasn't put her in her place yet, even though it's getting more and more embarassing to watch.

She wasn't flirting when she got angry with Adam. If you recall, he had been saying she had performed poorly on his task because of missing Paul. This was untrue - Sir Alan went into it and they eventually agreed it was just a slur. And then Adam repeated it again; he wouldn't let go of it. He had raised the issue the previous task, too, when Katie wasn't even there to defend herself.

It's not the first time someone has got angry in the boardroom. Have you seen any of the previous UK series?

? How so? Should I feel insulted?

“What does that even mean?”

Surely the rest of my comment made my meaning clear. She is keeping the atmosphere light and taking criticism without getting upset.

She is so creepy the way she looks in the boardroom!! She gets all beaky, I cannot stand to watch her.

I think she is definitely trying to flirt with Sir Alan as its worked for her in the past. She's too obvious though, and not at all attractive when doing it.
