It's a fantastic show; as is Rent (only seen it once, in New York. Someone from NSynce was in it, but luckily we got his understudy ). Wasn't sure about the film though, as they all looked so much older (as opposed to being in their twenties on the cd).

I wish I was still a newbie - I did a really rambling recommendation post for you somewhere up there ^^^ ”

Yeah - although Rent is great the film makers decided to stick with the original Broadway cast, which is fine because they were always great in the roles, but by the time the film was made they did look a bit too old for their parts.

I still love it though and am pleased that it even made it to film.

The stage version to me is better, it's all in song and focused around their apartment ...

So wanting to know whether the Avenue Q rumour is true or not.

I completely agree with you! While I respected the producers for going with the OBC, I felt that they caved under fan pressure for it - and it was obvious that Mimi (not from the OBC, and young) was far better than most of them. Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal in particular looked old, and it's hard to care about Roger and Mark when they look about thirty and are still angsting

And, yes, I love the way it's staged. Especially the key throwing, and the film/phone call bits.

I never gave musical theatre a thought years ago and then I saw Michael Ball on the telly and got a bit of a crush on him and went to see him in Aspects of Love. It was fabulous! I loved the whole experience of seeing a live musical and since then I've seen all the major productions both locally and in London. Musical theatre is one of the most enjoyable art forms going.

My favourite is still Michael Ball and I've seen him in every show he has done.

I am really pleased the West End is getting the attention it deserves and I love ADWD.

I have been to loads of musicals, the latest being Cabaret last Saturday matinee.

Excellent musical and Kim Medcalf was very good with a powerful voice.

Daniel would be good in that as Cliff the male lead (after the Emcee).

Oh Cleo lighten up for heavens sake. Of course i dont belive all rumours are true and i'm taking this with a pinch of salt like everyone else, sheeesh!!

But you have to admit that ALW saying LIVE on radio that he wants to take time off to concentrate on phantom 2, is not really a rumour now is it????

Get the Avenue Q Soundtrack, its fab. Also reccomend Little Shop of Horrors, Blood Brothers, Thoroughly Modern Millie (Stage Version), Starlight Express and Drowsy Chaperone. Those are the ones I cant stop listening to at the moment.

Did you enjoy it? I saw it in March and was gobsmacked by it altogether. Excellent show.

It certainly has reignited my interest in musical theatre. I used to get loads of freebies in a job I did over 10 years ago and I saw Hair 3 times just so I could get up on stage at the end and dance with (well, not with, but close to) a very lythe John Barrowman!

But I think ALW has done a very clever thing to get the BBC to do the casting on tv and I hope it really gives the whole of theatreland a boost.
