hi i have always adored aussie soaps. i am currently enjoying the re runs of sons and daughters that have been on 5 now for 15 months i think aussie soaps are the best.

but have you noticed that although australia is like 40 times bigger than the uk most the actors/actresses have been in nearly all aussie soaps.

sad i know but with the country so much larger than uk seems odd

the population of Australia is only about 19 million whereas in the UK it hovers somewhere around 60 million...just like scotland in the UK has only about 5% of teh UK population but around 33% of the total land mass...

My younger sis spotted this the other day, and asked me why half the H & A, and neighbours actors / actresses had appeared in S and D previously.

I came up with the reason that S and D was just a starting ground for the actors. And used the ITV Kids show "Childrens Ward" as an example of this in the UK.
You won't believe how many Emmerdale and Corrie people came from that show!
The truth can also be said of Grange Hill.

And 95% of the drunks lying around Kings Cross...
