Hi guys,

I've recently gotten back in touch with an old friend of mine, who is now living in america...

i'm on T-mobile's Flext 35 and was wondering what would be the chepest way to call her...

would i be better off getting a calling card or just using my phone normally.

and just to mention i don't have a land line, as i have no real need for one as i'm hardly ever at home.

Thanks,

Jay

Calls to American landlines with Tmobile are 55p per minute. Get International Option (costs £2.50 per month) and that goes down to 10p per minute.

I don't think they do, you have to pay for them on top of your flext allowance, but someone else should be able to confirm this.

I can confirm it would not come out of your allowance. The £180 per month you get can only be used to calls which begin 01, 02 and 07 (apart from those 07744 style numbers which are access number).

just a quick question to go on from that, if you called someone who had a uk +447 mobile who was in the USA at the time you would still have to pay for the call on top of your flext allowance?

Cheers, Sam

Oddly enough, that would come out of your allowance.

Ideally use Skype. £0.014 per minute including VAT. You have a computer.
Personally I would ring T-mobile and ask them what they think the best thing to do would be.

Would you be charged normal UK rate (as if they were in the UK) to call them in America then and they would have to foot the huge bill then?

You'd be charged the normal UK rate as if they were in the same room as you. Just as long as it's a UK mobile number you won't be charged anything more.
