Why on earth are they keeping Chris? out of the 29 characters she should be the first to go.

I can't understand why this programme isn't more high profile, it's a great little drama.

Dunno, but apparently 24 out of the 29 are getting chopped!!!

I couldn't believe it when I read that they are cutting it down to just 5 characters - won't it get a bit boring?!

It'll be interesting to see what sort of storyline they come up with to kill off the other 24...

Well 'the lock' doesn't feature anymore so no boating accidents.

I think they must introduce new characters, some of the cast have fulfilled their potential. Yasmin, Vince and Fern aren't interesting and Pete seems to be slipping up too. Lucy and Becki are super little actresses whilst Gemma is awful.

I watched this show in about 1997-1998 but then they blowed up a whole family.
I don't really like that pete callen is he still there i found him really annoying.

Isn't a bit kinda wierd killing off the whole cast as they have already done it once before. I dont get to watch very often as I am not home in time... used to be a big fan when I could watch in on Sunday afternoons, perhaps they should reinstate the omnibus?

They can't lose Pete - he's the Phil Mitchell of Charnham!

When the killed off the Harts, as sad as it was(!), it did make great telly - so hopefully some good stuff coming up.

Lets hope they get rid of Nikki, Karen, Matt, Sadie, Vince, Fern, all of the rapist's family, Gemma, Paul (is he still in it?) Paul's brother and Claire to start with... they all absolutely do my head in!

Paul's still there - he's a pretty strong character, in my opinion.
Claire left ages ago, but she is still featured during the titles. Then again, so is Jude, and how long was he in it? Five minutes?

They are keeping Cat because she is the best actress! Yasmin is also a very strong character and there is a lot of scope for her. I don't know why they are keeping Chris.

Hopefully they will keep Roy and Pete.

They are going to bring in brand new families so it won't just be five people! The new producer said the show will be starting afresh, with new characters.

The remaining five will be kept so current viewers will have some familiarity.

Family Affairs would not be Family Affairs without Cat, she is the life and soul of the soap!

Im glad Cat is staying but I dont think they should keep Yasmin or Chris.

I think they should keep Roy, Fern, Paul, Pete, Geri, Karen & Matt, Jake & Lucy.

Definatley get rid of the family that own the sandwich shop. Nikki and family and yasmin and her family, including the AWFUL Benji.

Oh yeah I forgot about Claire I really liked her.

I can't believe there doing this again! I've watched the show right from the start, and the only character thats still around from back then is Roy, the show's definetly been picking up recently (particularly loving the stuff with Chris & Ben at the moment)

I'm hoping they'll keep - Roy, Nikki, Karen (not Matt, terrible Actor!) Pete, Ben, Chris, Cat, Geri, Sadie and of course Jake & Lucy (they've got a brilliant Chemistry together, you can see it in Night & Day aswell) and that they'll bring back Jude, got to love him for that accent alone! (wasn't he in Wonderful You on ITV1 a couple of years back?)

I wonder if they'll bring in totally new characters? Or bring back some old ones like Nick, Tim, Jude, Maria & Pamela?

they'd better not bring back Maria, I always hated her! The previous cull was brilliant, apart from the death of Holly who was great, the whole Hart family were incredibly annoying (and Mel is in about a million adverts these days!) and the year or so after that was excellent too, so maybe this will revitalise the soap again aswell.. it's a shame Sara can't come back too but I guess she's busy in The Bill..
