The Sony RDR-HXD1065 appears to have the spec we have all been waiting for, Dual Digital Tuner, 250GB Hard Disc, DVD recording from Hard Disc and external sources. Anyone any experience of this device?

Sorry to disappoint you, but I think one of the tuners is analogue :

Sony says -

Quote:
“DVD Recorder with 250GB Hard Disk Drive for up to 387 Hours of TV Recording without the need for blank Discs. Twin Analogue and Digital Tuner for clear TV reception anywhere in the UK and up to 8 Days TV programme information displayed On-Screen. Digital Photo and Music Management feature.”

And that might mean one analogue and one digital or that both are analogue/digital. I suppose it would take someone who's got one to tell us. And there lies the real problem with this box its £500 which is way OTT methinks.

Looking at the service manual it's only got one tuner, a combined digital/analogue one, similar to what's fitted in the current TV sets.

Thanks for your replies. As correctly pointed out the Sony RDR-HXD1065 only has one tuner, switchable between analogue or digital. As far as price goes it is available from 121 Electricals for £338 inc VAT.

Ok thanks for input. Not much use then in my opinion.

cheers
