Best solo:

1. Paint it black (Lee - seems to be quite a favourite!)
2. Lady is a tramp (Daniel)
3. If there's any justice (Johndeep)

Best group

1. Don't rain on my parade
2. Luck be a lady
3. Pinball wizard

Best sing-off

1. Bring him home (Daniel v Lewis - wrong one saved!)
2. He ain't heavy (Ben v Seamus - still think Seamus was better)
3. Let it Be (Chris B vs Johndeep)

Best final exit

1. Johndeep (though for amusement it could have been Seamus)
2. Daniel
3. Anthony

Bad Day - Lee
Paint it black - Lee
Lady is a Tramp - Daniel
(and if I can only have one Lee performance my third choice would be Craig singing - this it the moment - which he did with such feeling)

Can we do favourite group performances too?

if so top one would be
Rain on my parade (Lee/Daniel/Craig)
then - She Loves You (all)
and - Born to be Wild (all)

thanks sorry just saw that someone has indeed already done the groups!

Sing offs: Agree Daniel/Lewis - Bring Him Home was the best

And best three exits in my view were:
Daniel - Seamus and Craig.

1. Paint It Black - a song I really didn't like before
2. Leave Right Now - Lee sang it very well and I enjoyed it despite being a Will Young fan!
3. Daniel - Lady is a Tramp

Quote:
“Daniel and Lewis's "Bring it home”

Sorry but it is "Bring Him Home".

And the song Lee sang is "Leave Right Now"

I was trying to remember that Jondeep song. I thought he was amazing on the first night.... just didn't have the look needed.

So,

I am in work avoidance mode and, being truly sad I have come up with two ways of calculating the overall order of preference.

The first is complicated...so pay attention. The request was for the top three performances in order of preference, which would be simple - you assign points as

1st 3
2nd 2
3rd 1

But loads of people then list 5 or don't give an order........so I have assigned 0.5 for all over the three. Where no order was mentioned 1 point is assigned to each nomination. I have only done solo performances, so, where a FM has included other categories in their three (sing offs, group performances) I have asigned the points to the solo performances nonumated according to their order in that list.

WAKE UP YOU AT THE BACK!!!!!!!!!

So on that basis, assuming I have been consistent and my maths is OK here is the order -

Don't hold me to this - I didn't see the first part of the series, so, if a FM has got a title wrong, I will have as well

Paint it Black 69
Bad Day 22
You Give me Something 16
Lady is a Tramp 15.5
Leave Right Now/I Don't Want to Talk About It 11
Blue Suede Shoes 9.5
Help Yourself 9
This is the Moment 5.5
Mack the Knife 5
Walking in Memphis 4
Born to be Wild/Crocodile Rock/Daydream Believer 3
Being Alive 2.5
Do you Love Me 2
Rob's first performance 2 (the posters couldn't remember the song name, so if it is a duplicate just add the numbers up)
Love is all Around 1.5
If there is any Justice/I saw her standing there/Piano Man/Start Me Up/Who am I/Always on my Mind/I'll be There are all 1
Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word 0.5

A simpler method is to give every solo nomination a point each -

Paint it Black 28
Bad Day 12
Lady is a Tramp 11
You Give me Something 9
Leave Right Now 6
This is the Moment/ I Don;t Want to Talk About It/Blue Suede Shoes 5
Help Youself 4
Being Alive/Mack the Knife/Daydream Believer/Crocodile Rock 3
Love is all Around/Walking in Memphis/Who am I/Rob's first number 2

Everything else, 1 nomination.

This may not be accurate - ever started something then really wished you hadn't so corrections welcome.

This is current to Eryndil's post at 17.37.

and I know its "I Don't Wanna Talk about it" but I just can't!! (you will never know the trouble I have, coming from the West Midlands and having a soft spot for Slade ).

Thanks for all the hard work

Yes, thanks for that, very interesting.

It's all about Lee and Daniel isn't it? Dammit ALW, why are you so blind?

Why do I have this awful feeling Lewis will win?

Sorry to be so late into the thread (I've been away, you see )

My three favourite individual performances are:
1. Rob - Piano Man. Magical. Rob went downhill after this IMO. I know it lost him respect from many people because it's not meant to be exactly a happy song and he smiled through it, but I loved it; I've listened to it endless times since.
2. Craig - Black or White. I love upbeat numbers, and after "This is the Moment" the week before, I'd finally started to love Craig, and was waiting to see what he'd pull out of the bag as a follow up. In my eyes, he didn't disappoint.
3. Lewis - Faith or Hero. As my official favourite, he deserves to be in here somewhere. I chose Faith because I love the song anyway, and was so pleased that he got to sing it in the first show. I know some people didn't think that it did him justice, but I thought it showed off his dancing skills well, and he held the vocals. Loved it. It goes against Hero, which is possibly his best vocal of the series. After two consecutive weeks of being in the bottom two, he really needed to pull something special out of the bag. I saw Hero as the kiss of death myself, but after the last line ("I can be.....your hero") I just knew he'd nailed it. I just hope he keeps the standard up this week.

Special mentions also go to Craig's This is the Moment, Lee's Daydream Believer, Chris B's Walking in Memphis, and, for comedic value (sorry! ) Antony's Patience.

Favourite group songs:

1. Pinball Wizard, of course! Just brilliant, and I'm suprised I've not worn out the Youtube video of it lol, I've watched it so many times. I just get such a great feeling when I hear Seamus' "Ever since I was a young boy....." which lasts 'till the end of the song, everytime!
2. Do you love me? - Very dancey, and fun, and a great song anyway! I thought Lewis stood out in the performance, and my friend said that it (almost) made her forget someone was going to have to leave in the next show!
3. One Vision. When I first heard it, I really didn't think it lived up to "Pinball Wizard" (it was the week after), but after many more listens, I've realised it actually does, but nothing will come close to beating PW in my eyes as the ultimate group song.

Sing Offs:
1. Lewis and Rob. I was so convinced Lewis was going home (as I was Lewis & Daniel - actually convinced wasn't the word, I'd have bet my house on Lewis leaving that night!) and the song was really emotional - it was just fantastic. I didn't enjoy the Lewis/Daniel one as much because a) I thought the song went on far too long - I just wanted to get it over with! and b) I was in tears anyway because I thought Lewis was going, so I wasn't really paying much attention to the song!
2. "Everything I do" - between Craig and Antony. I've not seen this for ages, but remember I quite liked it at the time. I must go and see if it's on Youtube.
Close Every Door:
1. Daniel. It was so emotional, for Lewis fans too.
2. Antony - He could have held his own in MT, IMO. He just got a really hard to sing, Gary Barlow really has got talent, but he is also quite a bit older, so IMO it was unfair to give Antony that song when he could have had something perhaps had something that wasn't such a struggle. From the way he sounded when he sang Patience (on the chorus' high notes) he must have had trouble in rehearsals with it - why no-one really picked up on it until it was too late, I'll guess we'll never know.
3. Chris C/Craig - Chris C - it was such a shock after his mediocre solo performance to find that he could sing - and more-so move people - in such a way as this. Craig - I was so happy at Lewis being saved by the public vote, that I wasn't really paying attention.....! But I do think Ben should have gone in Craig's place, as Craig had a better voice for the part IMO.

I'm sorry I can never give straightforward answers.....
