If Sam & Amanda won't give them enough footage to make themselves look bad then BB just have to use their 'friends' to do so

Tbh I'm coming round to the idea of getting them out of there as unscathed as possible now - it's getting towards the end game and people are getting nasty which would be the worst possible thing for either of them to get involved in.

Hopefully next week Kara & Amy ( don't think Jonty will be up ) can 'double up' and take one of the nastier hms down.

i think this is a new ploy for the public to feel sorry for them and not evict them (HWH), to get rid of the twins, BB seem to really want them out!! BUT NO FEAR they are popular out there they'll be fine!

I'm finding this very upsetting. Now if the twins are evicted, their BB experience will end with something deeply unpleasant.

The new HMs are also being hurt

BB picked a night when E4's live coverage doesn't start 'till late too, so it's difficult to know what's really going on.

Sam & Amanda were comforting Kara for a while - they're currently at the fridge ( unfortunately with the other 'older' hms at the smoker's bench ) . They're helping with the cooking but it could be made to look as if they are all part of a group.
Amy has handled it really well , Kara was a bit emotional but is recovering , haven't seen much of Jonty.

You're right though Veri - it's all getting very nasty and the first targets are the least deserving of all

Snap! I was just thinking exactly the same thing. Things are starting to maybe go wrong for the twins now - first of all with the drunken episode last night with Amanda and all the potential repercussions from that, and now with BB twisting the knife by showing nominations, and all the fallout from that.

It really is very bad for them to get involved in any house politics shenanigans or romantic entanglements with rivalries and/ or relationship tensions at this late stage having done so brilliantly up until now. I had thought they would be safe and that people in the house would look out for them, but it is clear from last night that this can't be relied upon and that they will not necessarily get the best advice from other housemates. As for BB plying them with drink every night, that just increases the danger for them and they are probably the least experienced and least able to protect themselves from the effects of that. I would hate for their BB experience to turn nasty when up until now they have sailed through it with enthusiasm and spirit, enjoying everything and infecting everyone with their fun and optimism.

So despite all the negativity around them Sam & Amanda continue to shine with positivity and fun

It worried me at first but the aftermath is less than I expected. Thngs seem to be calming down now and the twins especially Amanda were supportive towards Kara - they didn't cop-out they talked to her.

Yes there may be some backlash from the public after tomorrow's HL show i.e. sympathy for the ex HND people could translate into a vote against the twins on Friday - but - the twins comments were pretty gentle and not in any way nasty. So I think any backlash will be temporary and they'll be fine.

Now, the good news.

Currently on Betfair the twins are favourites to win! At Betfair, you have to halve Sam and Amanda's odds due to their dead heat rules so:

Amanda 4.0 ((half = 2.0 = evens)
Sam 4.1 (half = 2.05)

Brian 2.28 = 5/4

Twins are favourites - but hey, this is going to be one heck of a race to the finish line!!!!

Don't be so negative some of you lot... the twins wouldn't be and aren't!

It's because the twins are the only "old" HMs who are up for eviction; and so some people who want to "send a message" to the old HMs (because they're considered arrogant, smug, or whatever) to tell them they're unpopular, or just to worry them, think that evicting the twins is a way to do it.

Also, some people who want the twins out for other reasons may think the "send a message" argument is a good way to get people who don't especially dislike the twins to vote them out nonetheless.

Basically, this twist has stirred up, or revived, a lot of dislike for some of the "old" HMs, especially "Team Smug", and so some people are trying to get to those HMs via the twins. (At present, Team Smug seems to be Carole, Liam, Ziggy and maybe Gerry.)

Of course, the general public may not think that way, and so it's not clear how much damage will actually be done. (Also HMs often take such things less seriously than many viewers do.)

Also, whenever BB does something unusual re nominations, it's natural to wonder why: what is BB trying to accomplish? And it was already strange that the twins had to be up for eviction this week.

Some of us have built up distrust for BB over the years and so worry when something like this comes along.

Meanwhile, I'm hoping BB shows the "boulder play fight" (see my earlier post) in tomorrow's highlights.

I usually don't put much value on what the Daily Star says, but what you say adds weight to their claim that BB are fixing it for the twins to go .

There's a hell of a lot of former Sam & Amanda supporters on the forum tonight wanting them evicted because of their supposed team play in not nominating Carole. If that is reflected among the public ( big if I know ) then not only will they be evicted but their marketability afterwards has taken a massive shock.
I said earlier tomorrow night Hls were crucual - now they're even more so - they really need every positive aspect to be shown in full , being ignored will put doubt in the minds of the viewers that they really are as supportive as we know they are.

I try to but it's difficult sometimes , doesn't help when your hands are tied behind your back when trying to respond to the critics either

Those were anti-Carole FMs rather than genuine Samanda supporters.

The twins knew they were up for the vote and didn't want to risk facing Carole, who has survived 3 votes and is seen as one of the favourites inside the House.

Looks like. On Betfair (who seem to be the only ones on Oddschecker to have "next eviction" odds), it seems Kara and Jonty are safer than the twins.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't like that earlier.

IMO, it's the old phenomenon that some HMs have to get virtually everything right. You'd have thought that all the reasons for liking them, built up over the weeks, would outweigh something like that; but that's not how it works.

But there will still be twin things to appreciate at least for the rest of this week, I believe.

Before the GBP, tonights shenanigans, however edited, can't really make the twins out to be dreadful betrayers.

Their nomination reasons, mild as they are, have been screened. Tonight, those who have reacted badly will suffer the most damage, not necessarily in the public vote, but in later nominations.

I think, because Kara-Louise had a bit of a meltdown that, rather than gaining the sympathy vote, she will actually leave over Amy this week. Most members of the public will wonder why she is making a fuss, many will think they're doing her a favour by releasing her.

I really don't know what BB are thinking with this latest bit of nonsense and what effect they're aiming for. I don't think it massively increases Samanda's jeopardy - a few late night forum 'loudmouths' are hardly the court of balanced public opinion.

I do think, however, that BB were slightly disappointed that the newbies nominated each other and didn't use more of their votes on the 'originals', and that the originals all nominated in a narrow focus, and part of the goal may be to set everybody against each other from now on so that a wider spread of HMs get to face the vote in the next couple of weeks.

I was wondering about that. It's some astute gameplay if so; but gameplay is not the kind of thing that works in the twins' favour with the public.

It's also possible that, despite everything, they felt closer to Carole than to the ones they nominated. They do, after all, show things to Carole and call out to her sometimes when being chased, and Carole helped Amanda when she hurt her ankle ... A lot of stuff like that has probably built up over the weeks, and their relationship with Carole has always been more complex and just wanting her out.

Possible , I don't think myself it was quite so planned though. The few times we have seen their reasons it's been more about people not letting them have fun or not joining in. Amy has been very much a part of their 'group' while Kara and Jonty haven't so it was only natural to nom them for similar reasons to which they have nommed Carole , Tracey etc. in the past.

I like the Twins but I don't understand why a lot of their fans what to infantilise them. They're adult women and I feel that we should respect that.

They are playing the same game brian is playing (dumber than they really are) so why are many of you are whipping up hatred against Brian?

So either something weird happened, or I misunderstood something, or I'd better appreciate their quick recovery.

I never put much store in late night Betfair movements. Betfair is an exchange. The prices swing wildly under small volume trading, and of course being a matched bet system, are much more immediately affected by punter sentiment. Someone going on Betfair all worked up or excited after seeing something like what has been on the live feed is more likely to trade on a shortening price driven by emotion than rational logic.

Also, most normal people don't post on internet forums into the wee small hours, nor do they visit betfair in overwhelming numbers, however the people who do post are more likely to trade.

The GBP like who they like. Tomorrows H/L, however sympathetic to Kara, Jonty and Amy, won't generate a massive vote swing against the twins. You have to work at it for weeks to change public opinion. People may, on the whole, be stupid, but they don't usually have goldfish memories that can just be re-programmed on a whim.

Presuming Sam and Amanda really are as well-regarded in the wider world as we believe them to be, Wednesday's H/L show won't hole them below the waterline.

I believe BB are playing for the longer game, the next couple of evictions, and the final. They want a newbie in the final week, and a sympathetic and generous public vote for them when we get there (remember poor, ignored, Jennie and her statistically irrelevent 0.9% vote last August?)

LF just now , a conversation between Sam , Amanda and Carole. Only caught a few phrases among sound dips but seems to be about their social work course and Carole's exoperiences - Sam mentioned their lessons and Carole mentioned youth conferences.

No further details of course and it's not exactly thrilling entertainment but it is evidence of the type of conversation we have all been wondering about from all three participants for the last 2 1/2 months
