One of the many positives of Chanelle that never seems to make the highlights show is her really good sense of humour. For me, when she's upbeat she's possibly the wittiest of all the housemates. I loved it during the "Truth and Dare" on Saturday night when Brian was dared to run naked through the garden and asked "Can I keep my socks on?" Quick as a flash Chan replied "It's not your feet we're interested in Brian!"

Unfortunately it seems that Chanelle only makes the HLs show when in relation to being Ziggy's girlfriend (ex now), or when she has a strop, or when she makes some innocuous comment that can help fuel the shallow Wag wannabee caricature BB want to portray her as. I'm starting to find it all so depressingly predictable. Anything that doesn't fit into the narrow whinging wannabee portrayal of Chanelle you can almost be sure now won't make it into the HLs show. For instance Chanelle has now had several conversations about her University ambitions, talked about playing the violin and all the jobs she has held down while funding her way through college. However all this is just too inconvenient for the producers, as it would show a far greater complexity to Chanelle than the reductive, shallow personality they have saddled her with!

I'm just prepared for an absolute hatchet job in tonights show. Chanelle portrayed as an immature, spoilt little kid out of her depth in an adult relationship and jealous of "honest, straightforward" Charley! To think Nicky fans complain of the edit she gets!

That was a shame they didn't show that as it showed how Chanelle was not only ready to be evicted but just how thoughtful in nature she usually is. I would have thought that Chanelle would maybe have asked Laura to take it on her behalf though, I wonder if she did?

I will have to watch the highlights again to see what happened, I wasn't really concentrating that much last night, still trying to get over this virus.

Great post again. I agree with it all. So many things happened on the Truth or Dare and all that gets shown is Charley and Chanelle's kiss. How convenient they showed that as soon as Chanelle came out of the Diary Room after just saying she disliked Charley. It was just so obvious that they were trying to show Chanelle as two-faced by slagging off Charley and then kissing her two minutes later when that wasn't the case. What about Chanelle's kiss with Sam? Or Amanda and Brian's? Or Chanelle's and Tracey's?

Thing is, I think I might be on the wrong page, again

She did ask, I watched it on live feed, Laura said no because it was too much to carry (along with the weight of her enormous breasts i guess)

Chanelle was a bit disappointed but said oh well I will just make some next week (obviously she assumes she will be up again)

I like Channelle. She's great in the diary room - without trying to copy anyone, you can tell she's genuinely upset about stuff - bless her!

I'm liking Chanelle more and more. I don't blame her for being wary of Charley. For every bad thing Chan has said about Charley, she knows only too well that Charley has said far worse about her. I think she's being very mature about this break with Ziggy too, much to the surprise of a few in there, including Ziggy.

Thanks Ethereal! I was really looking forward to seeing Chanelle's stunned reaction to Friday night's eviction on last night's HLs show. The immediate aftermath of the result I didn't see after the Channel 4 programme ended at 9.30 pm on Friday. For me Chanelle's fear and then subsequent shock and disbelief at the result was the most touching thing I've seen on this year's BB. However it was just completely irrelevant to the Endemol agenda and so wasn't shown.

You're completely right about the Truth or Dare on Friday night. What appealed to me on watching it was seeing how exuberant and absolutely chuffed Chanelle was just to be there. When she's happy there really is a fantastically magnetic warmth to her personality. However as you said we saw none of this positive side to Chanelle and the only thing they used was the kiss with Charley, and only then to juxtapose it in such a way as to portray Chanelle as being two-faced in relation to Charley.

The whole depiction of the Chanelle/Charley relationship has become downright cynical. There was a HLs show last week which was edited to make it look as if it was Chanelle who had an obsession with Charley that even Ziggy couldn't understand, while providing no reasons as to why Chanelle might harbour such feelings towards Charley.

All together fighting for the underdog....

I've never seen this thread before but I'm glad that there are others out there who like Chanelle. I like here even more now that she has broken up with Ziggy - and the way she has handled it. I hope she can win it now.

I love the way the nightly HL show is sooooo out of date by the time Chanelle appears!

She certainly keeps her story one step ahead all the time!

I hope Chanelle wins at this rate. I think she has a HUGE chance of reaching the final (if te final has 6 people in this year)

I watch LF on and off for around 5 hrs last night. Chanelle seemed to be generally having a good time; i loved her granny look during the task and thought she looked lovely "poshed up" for the first time in ages, later in the evening.

Not sure about the time she spent in the bathroom with Ziggy, although how can i be critical of anyone wearing those tiny denim shorts? lol I did not in a conversation with Nicky she is still very much pondering over the whole relationship situation, but then again the feelings that such an intense liason will have created are not going to vanish overnight!

What was the sleeping arrangement during the night as i've not actually seen them in bed anytime i've looked?

Chanelle's granny look had me cooing. I don't know how anyone look so sexy in that clobber.

I agree that Chanelle's ssense of humour (often self-deprecating) is her greatest asset I think she could win this if she manages to give up on Ziggy completely and stops caring what Charley says. In fact she could achieve both by indicating in some way that the relationship's off and that she no longer cares what Ziggy does or who he talks to. Maybe she should try to play the matchmaker role between Pooh and Ziggy.

Could be another interesting HL show for Chanelle tonight!

Chanelle will have her hopes up when she at last hears that Charley has gathered enough votes to put her up for "eviction". She will be gutted when she doesn't go.

I just hope she doesn't despair too much or (worst scenario) follow through with her threat to quit the show. Hopefully the blow of Charley staying can be counteracted by the boost she will receive if it is made clear that she did in fact win the public vote last week over Laura, and that enough people in the house have now turned against Charley to see her at least up for eviction (even if it is a fake one).

Chanelle's nomination of Charley tonight = best of the whole series IMO. Had me in stitches.

It will be hard for her this week when Charley goes and comes back but she still knows that Charley is disliked by the public as she got the most votes.

I hope Nicky goes, just to deny some people the satisfaction of a Chanelle reaction.

Lol, is it just me or do BB seem to have it in for Chanelle lately?

Heard Chanelle on the LF earlier mention that she had asked to walk again yesterday, not great news. I just hope she can find the enthusiasm to embrace the whole experience more and not this constant flurry of ups and downs that seem endless.

They do... but she will elicit sympathy from the casual viewer... lots of my 'casual viewing' friends have warmed to her, because of that inane Laura 'twist'

Chanelle is by far the prettiest Hm, it is a pity she has had her heart broken by a cad like Ziggy. Methinks his gameplan went desperately wrong by thinking he can mess about with her emotions.
I adore her and hope she wins, just to see the snarly look on Charley's face.

If Nicky goes I don't think she will say anything bad about Chanelle. Chanelle hasn't said anything that bad about Nicky and the nomination for her this week seemed a fair assessment of Nicky from what she herself has witnessed. Additionally Nicky might feel it's fair play as she herself was exposed to Chanelle as being a bit sneaky.

If Charley goes, she will first of all see it as the public don't like her and after seeing the interview on the plasma, depending on what Charley says, should realise that she is only being sent back in to face what she has dished out.

I liked her through the HL's today from what I saw. She felt sad that it had ended with Ziggy yet at the same time regretful that they had a relationship at all. Giving Ziggy the cold shoulder when he came into the garden in the morning I thought was a good move. Dancing in her granny costume made me laugh. Her DR nomination made me smile to especially when she hurt her nose and said "Oh my Gosh". All in all I felt it wasn't such a bad edit, not as bad as what I thought it might have been for her.

On the LF just now, Chanelle is taking it very well that Pauline was an actress. She's in hysterics that she was fooled about the "Three-tailed monkey". She stuck up for Thaila by saying that she helped them win the task and that she really liked her. Chanelle also ran up to the Diary Room door with the twins and shouted "Bye Pauline!"
