When was this series filmed?

I have been debating WHEN the 2007 series of Apprentice was filmed over the past few weeks and was delighted to see that someone had posted and answer to this question in this very forum.

They said that it was filmed in October last year, but I am finding this hard to believe.

I am assuming that there isn't really one task every week, so even though we are on week 10 now, its probably not really 10 weeks into the filming.. But if it did start in October and they have been filming for a few weeks, this would make it slap bang in he middle of winter, and if this is the case, why are there leaves on the trees and why is it so light in the morning?

Last week, they were running down a high street before the shops shut, so that puts the time at about 5-6pm, and it was totally dark.. So, it does look like its either late or early in the year.. But my other 1/2 keeping pointing out "look at the trees" and the fact that they are completely green is a good argument. Also, when they have to get out of the house early in the morning, its usually daylight (although it has been suggested that when they say "Sir Alan will meet you at 7am" it might actually not really be 7am).. Again, this is an indication that its between Spring-Autumn

Last night, I was looking for clues, but there wern't many outdoor sequences.. But during the Flyby of Canary Warf, it looked rather Summery.. Initally I thought that this might be a 'library' shot.. But then they showed them at the BT Tower and again, the view from there didn't look like Winter.

Can anyone answer this once and for all?

It showed the real presenters of the home shopping channel wearing poppies which would make it late October early November for that particular task also Naomi was interviewed on Breakfast and said that it had been a few months since she finished filming

Well last June they were filming at QVC by the looks of it. Selling different products.

I had not read this thread until now so thought that the thread starter had put QVC by mistake.

This thread is from last June.

In Macro when the teams were selling UK stuff to the French there was a Christmas Tree in the door way.

Filming began in October and finished mid November - there are still leaves on the trees in November, particularly in London

But that can't be them. None of those products match what was shown.

Last night's episode was filmed at Ideal World not QVC.

Apparently the series was filmed ages ago and then the final 2 work with AS for 6 months and then he chooses who wins - that way I guess he can see who shines in the 6 months - genius!!!

I think the from-the-air shots are just library pictures as apparently Siralan's office is nowhere near (in Brentwood I think ) and the boardroom is a special studio with lots of BB-like mirrors to film from the various angles and the fired people getting into taxis are apparently all filmed at once as people have noticed continuity errors. I've never believed the 'Siralan wants to meet you in 20mins' thing as how on earth to they all get themselves ready and across london in 20mins!

Maybe QVC refused to allow the BBC to use the footage then?

Unless it was another show or another countries version of The Apprentice?

The TV selling in last nights Apprentice was shot at Ideal World NOT QVC. They showed a shot of the building with the name of the channel on it.

as some of the comments further down that thread say, it was aired at time when they were still advertising for applicants so it must have been some sort of practice run or pilot for another TV show?

The cafe the Apprentices pop out to while Sir Alan decides isn't the type of place to be found at Canary Wharf.

Last weeks episode where they were stood at the Cutty Sark - I seem to recall in the news they said the masts etc were removed last november for renovation. So that episode was at least 6 months old?

Yes, Naomi last night for example was wearing a grey skirt suit in the boardroom, but was seen leaving in a black skirt.

Jadine's trousers miraculously metamorphosed into a skirt the previous week.

I don't think the series is filmed in summer - look at some of the outdoor coats the candidates wear. I would say October - November would seem about right, espcially given the poppies worn on the show aired last night.

When are people going to realise that the Appprentice is a television programme and as such is not real ? 'The Camera Never Lies' is not relevant here.

The scene setting shots are generic and not timeline critical.

The sad fact is that I spend more time pulling it to pieces than I do actually watching it !

I have a slightly different question about filming... Do people they are selling to buying from know they are from the apprentice? If not, how do they explain the TV cameras?! But, presubably they can't know otherwise that wouldnt be fair... Anyone know the answer?!

How do you mean by
how do they explain the TV cameras

The shots of the Ideal World filming would not have been shown on Ideal World, also the on screen graphics would have been different.

Properly November because I saw the Christmas Tree up in Macro in an earlier post.

I think the poster meant in other tasks when they are buying or selling to people with a camera obviously filming the whole transaction.

They are not allowed to mention The Apprentice or say they are in a competition. They usually say they are making a business documentary. I dare say people sometimes guess.

The show is filmed starting with the initial boardroom on Monday 2nd October. The start of task 9 was on Monday October 30th. So they average two tasks a week. Most tasks are one day of preparation and one day of selling/buying, with the boardroom on a third day, so they probably get one day off a week.

I know I've said all this before, and probably in the thread the original poster is referring to. The evidence is collected in another forum: http://forum.theinternetforum.net/in...?topic=23550.0

I know I said I had not read the thread as I did not want to know what happened.

I know it was Ideal World!

Apparently at some time last year a group of BBC execs did an in house spoof of the apprentice for a training day or something and it involved a QVC shopping task.
