White Stripes song is great!. I love the way the guy plays bass, rythm and lead guitar all at the same time on the same guitar...brilliant riff, great sound. ”

Yes when i first heard that song i thought it was an old 70's rock song! I was very surprise to hear that it was a modern song by the white stripes!

Can someone tell me if the boy and girl in the band are brother or sister? Because they look it!

No one seems completely sure whether they are brother and sister. Some people say they were married and I think that even in America marrying a sibling is illegal. It's one of musics many mysterys. Though hopefully someone else knows the definite answer.

Anything on the Coldplay - A Rush Of Blood To The Head or Feeder - Comfort In Sound albums.

On a small personal rant: I think DJ Sammy should be banned. Shite german style early 90s techno covers. Ugh. Someone please put a "Warning - lack of talent" sticker on the waste-of-plastic that would be that artist's CDs.

Just reading through these posts has made me realise that I shouldn't even be on this thread - I have only heard one of the tracks of the entire lot - Ainslee! God, I am old! The only other record that I know has been in the charts in the past year is David Sneddon - Stop Living the Lie, but didn't like it much!

I hate that song! No offence to anyone who likes it though!

Wish I Didnt Miss You - Angie Stone
”

A fantastic song. I have four versions of it on ym computer at home, and I quite like doing a search for Stone on Real Jukebox and playing all of them back-to-back. One of the remixes in particular is sensational. Am I the only person who thinks of I Will Survive when they hear this?

No more Pain - Mary J Blige ”

No More Drama. Yes, a sister to I Wish I Didn't Miss You. And a brilliant, brilliant piece of music. Great video, too. Never really got Mary J Blige before this.

I haven't actually *bought* any new music this year, probably the first since I was 14. And most of the stuff I've downloaded has not been recent, either.

I have to admit I did have a soft spot for Danger! High Voltage!, though it's worn off. I saw them live in a tiny club in Brussels a week after the song was released in the UK, and they were great: a very tight, energetic, raw rock band. They had two songs that will probably be enormous hits. One was Gay Bar. "I met you in a gay bar, a gay bar..." Very catchy. Another was evern better, and was called Improper Dancing. Beyond that, not sure if they'll ride this The ------s wave or nor.

Someone mentioned Brian Kennedy. I love his voice, but I don't think he's done anything to match his magnificent first album.

But my vote goes to a song that hasn't been released yet: I'm 49 by Paddy McAloon. I'm hoping this heralds a return to the Paddy of old.

Sorry to be pedantic, but it was out at the end of 2001 which means its more than 12 months old.

Brian Kennedy- Have you heard his stuff with 'Secret Garden'??

According to the new Uncut magazine, the new McAloon solo album is sensational. Can't wait!!
