An HNC is only equivalent to an A-level, so no, it's hardly in the same league as 'proper' studies.

I agree but unfortunately we are in the minority ........think Michelle McManus and the Macdonald brothers. It is like a footie competition and they would rather supprot Germany or Argentina than support another an english team. Too many old wounds that go back centuries but there you have it. I don't deny they will like Keith but I just don't think they will be looking at whether he is suitable or not

I don't know the schools in Scotland but that's my problem if they are not as good and he really wants it i.e MT star why didn't he go to London to train. Edinburgh by train is only about 1 hour farther than Scarborough which is pretty far north. And if you are good enough there are grants and scholarships so lack of money is not a reason. I'm not sure that Keith wants MT I think he wants to sing which is admirable but very different.

I agree twingle. If Keith gets to the final, he could pull it off. I am worried

Maybe there are financial reasons why Keith has stayed put. Who knows?

He is very fortunate in that he has now captured the interest of the British public and obviously ALW as well. He will most likely have a lot more opportunities to further a career than he did this time last year. I certainly wish him good luck as he deserves it.

My daughter is at Conti's - very difficult to get into a perfoming arts college but on her audition day half the kids were from Scotland - who got places there as well. Most schools look for all round ability acting, singing and dancing even if they just want to go to a Dance College. Maybe Keith could do this now if he doesnt become Joseph. Most Boys are awarded scholarships and there are hardship funds as well.

I agree, I don't vote on nationality (ok so I am voting for Keith but I also vote(d) for Chris B and Lewis) And the MacDonald brothers deserved to get as far as they did. I know a lot of people (Scots ) hated them! It bugs me that a Scot can't vote for a Scot without people assuming that it is because of nationality and that when people like Keith (who well deserves to be there) do well in a competition like this everyone assumes it's just because he's got the scottish vote! I'm pretty sure that there will be english people voting for him, just as loads of scots vote for the english contestants (myself included)

The Welsh get the same problem - I have said many times I don't vote for someone just because they are Welsh but because they are good at what they do. Most people vote that way and don't particularly think about the nationality.

Sorry I disagree. I think we are in the minority. I don't live in Scotland anymore but believe me we are so patriotic (actually not abad thing) that if we can beat the English we will go all out. I vote for my fav whatever the nationality but as I said I know I am in the minority. Sadly there are a lot of bigoted people in Scotland. Although I think the generation down from me is changing.

Think world cup and Scotland supporting Germany and Argentina rather than England. I have seen that with my own eyes

I actually think there is a lot of people who are patriotic to the point of voting anyone but England but there is also a lot of people who vote on mainly talent which they should in this competition cos it's only a couple of guys not the country. I'm Scottish and quite patriotic but my two faves in this competition are Lee and Ben. Loved Craig but only cos he came across really nice not cos he's Scottish.

How do you know you are in a minority, if there has never been, as far as I know, any regional breakdown of the voting figures on any reality talent contest?

You don't live in Scotland.

Your opinion is that the majority of Scots vote for Scottish contestants in anything. My opinion, as a Scot, is that the results of ADWD indicate to me that most people, whatever their home country, are voting on performances.

I will grant that there are bound to also be fans who will not only vote but will multi-vote for various reasons that have nothing to do with where the guy comes from - he's fit, he's got a good 'story' etc.

Michelle McManus, The MacDonald brothers. Now maybe people actually like these people but during pop idol 2 friends in Scotland told me that there was a poster campaign to tactically vote for Mark to get Sam out to clear the way for Michelle. When the votes were relaeased later on it showed that it had been a two horse race with Michelle and Sam switching from first to second on a weekly basis.

But to fair I know each of the lads home towns have got behind them and so they should. Unless I categorically disliked a contestant I am sure I would do the same irrespective of country.

”

There was also a campaign by Mark fans to get Sam fans to throw a few votes Mark's way so there could be a Sam/Mark final.

Think it will be Ben and Lewis and that Ben will get voted off - Lewis did well in the duet and that might save him

BEN did well in the Duet! - Lewis is not ready yet!

Yes its definately a close call tonight....Lee has always been good but messed up words in both of his songs tonight.

I find Keiths voice quite graty....he seems to have a urrrrrr tone that creeps in occasionally. Ben would be better as one of the brothers instead...perhaps Benjamin!

So Lees best at acting, and Lewis is the best looking IMO

I don't think any are my ideal Joseph though....shame maybe they could get John B to do it instead!!

Lee did not like it when one fault was pointed out! good job they never got round to the second mistake i n the Duet!

Bill Kenwright and his international star claim, come on Bill! stick with football or get back to Coronation Street - he is not making the leading man role any better than two of the other Younger Guys Ben & Keith!

As a Ben fan I hate to say it but I think he'll definitely be in the sing-off tonight probably with Lewis who sounded very nervous to me.

But IMO the nerves got to everyone tonight and it will be a close call who the GBP actually vote for.

If Ben hadn't reacted to the criticism I don't think he'd go tonight. But now he has I think he's done.

I want Lewis to win, but I am afraid that he will be voted off tonight.
