He said that he has nothing to learn from the other candidates on a specific task. On the other hand , he stated clearly in the 2nd episode (RORY) that he can learn from Sir Alan "from the best"

It was a very interesting programme. Not sure about Lohit, but they all seem to come from quite affluent backgrounds ie.

Kristina - "my dad was MD of Coca-Cola at the time..."

Simon - "I come from a long line of "done well-ers"

I had to laugh at Katie's employer being her ex-husband! Felt a bit sorry for her little girl, imagine being called Poppy!

what's wrong with that? I think it's a lovely name.

I think it works as an internet name (cough!) but not sure about real life - it's a sweet, girlie name rather than an ass-kicking name or an accountants name or whatever... if it were mine in real life, I think I'd feel a bit trapped by it.

I think it's because I knew a real life Poppy once and she was a lovely person. Fun-loving but I agree not kick-ass business type but maybe just a sign that Katie has put on a persona for The Apprentice. I think it might backfire on her though as the only media work I can see her getting is as a pantomime villian!


Ooh! great I was trying to watch several things at once last night.

Kristina's background was the one that surprised me the most. For some strange reason I thought that she came from a working class background.

Only just got to watch this and thought it was an excellent programme - really wish they'd done this in previous series. I found myself respecting four of them much more than I had before. (Still loathe Katie.) Simon seems a bit of a dork still, but I am influenced by the fact that Margaret and Nick were so quick to say how clever he was when they've spent a lot of time with him, and I felt for him clearly being in the shadow of his father and grandfather. Tre's story was fascinating and impressive - I really wish him well now, though I don't think he's right for the Apprentice because I don't think he's a natural employee, I think he should be running his own company - it depends what you think the point of the Apprentice is. Kristina's story was really impressive too, and you got a sense of why she'd be so tough, she's had to be. I don't see her being a TV star after this and I didn't the feeling - might be wrong - that's what she's after. I think she'd be a great choice. Lohit, also, would be great, really liked him, and I think quiet, sensible competance should be valued more on this programme. He's the one I'd most like to work with. Sadly, it doesn't sound as if he's what Sir Alan wants.

Really interesting programme, it was nice to see the persons behind the on screen personas.

I really think they should replace the honestly pointless You're Fired Program (Since we get the same interviews online and in the paper the day after) and have half an hour of what went on in the house in between tasks to get to know them better next year and then have the same beyond the Boardroom program at the same stage next year was great.

I Quite want Lohit to win after watching it although still want the final two to be between Kristina and Katie, although have a horrible suspiscion Simon is going to (Undeservedly imo) Win the whole thing.

is someone still going to leave after being offered a place in the final two by the way?

Adding my plaudits - this was a really well made doc.

Oh, and Katie IS genuinely scary!

You have to put it in her context; I am older than her, but I would not have liked to brave family opprobrium by announcing I was pregnant without a partner at that time, especially at 17 (I was mid 20s then). My parents lived in Ireland, but in my early 20s I went back to England as I could not cope with the "what will people think" stuff. She would have probably faced accusations of ruining the family name etc and as her father had a high profile job, that times 100. The parents seemed very cool to me, now they are proud of their grandson, but I am quite prepared to believe they were not supportive at the time, and only offered help if she agreed to certain conditions.

Kristina: "I was quite an innocent 17 year old just into my horse and my dog and not the things that other 17 year old girls were into. Then suddenly I became pregnant ..."

Did the stork come along? What a joke!

After that I couldn't take another word seriously. The convent story made it sound like she was pregnant in 1889, not 1989. And her whole story gave the impression she'd raised he son totally on her own - failing to mention she got married soon after University. I wonder if she complained to the editors that the violin soundtrack to her story was missing.

Simon: Obviously a lot smarter than he portrays - possibly playing up for the cameras too much. Highly rated by Nick and Margaret, and after surviving last week certainly by Sir Alan too.

Tre: Another hard luck story with the car crash ("did I mention that my head was split open"). Came across even more as someone who is better working on his own rather than being able to report to anyone.

Katie: Would walk this contest by a mile if she didn't backstab.

Lohit: Mr Nice Guy. Clearly got the business mind, but lacks the killer instinct.

I just wonder if Nick and Margaret saying how good Lohit is but that Sir Alan doesn't seem to see it is just to put us off the scent and he is the one he really likes.

After watching the programme I'm beginning to think none of them are right for the job. It would be interesting to see what job Sir Alan had in mind for the winner. I would love Sir Alan to turn round to them and say that none of them were right for the job so no winner this year!

I watched the show. I still found Simon a complete berk. Liked Tre, thought his wife and son were lovely and he seemd a good bloke really. Katie surprised me - her mum and dad were quite nice and her kids gorgeous. Can't understand why she's so awful. She also has a lovely figure so why she dressed like a fat 1980s tranny I don't know.

Kristina just seems the perfect apprentice, she actually wants the job, as does Lohit. Those two should be the finalists.

LOL I re-watched it yesterday and didn't think much of Katie's carpet, I think she needs a rug-in-a-box....

My opinion of Simon actually went down after this show. He is a privileged rich kid who whilst clearly intelligent and skilled, completely lacks direction and focus. He has never had (and never will have) to ask himself 'How am I going to make a living a earn money to support myself and a family?' and it shows. He lacks that hard edge of someone who *needs* to work and *needs* to make money. He can walk away from any job, any time he likes, and go back to doing breakdancing and that's not really Apprentice material.

This DID happen in parts of Ireland up to quite recently.
I am 33- 4 years younger than Christina.

A girl in my class in school got pregnant when she was 16 nearly 17. She was whisked away to have the baby and was MADE give it up for adoption. Things changed drastically and quickly in Ireland in the 90s. But I absolutely believe Kristinas story because I saw the same thing happen in my own school. Maybe it was different in Dublin, but in rural Ireland, it was a total taboo!

Of the 5 candidates, Simon now appeals to me the least. He just came across as such a dork. His story was so uninteresting, I mean it's not his fault he's dull, but I was totally uninspired by him. I also think he has been quite weak in some of the tasks, so I really don't want to see him in the final.

Tre, had the complete opposited effect. Wow, he has gone up so much in my estimation. I respect him more, as I can see where his arrogance comes from, he has a lovely wife and family and seems so driven. I think sirallun could actually do well with Tre, and up to now, at times I thought he was a fool.

Kristina, I was also impressed with, she is such an ambitious lady, and fair play to her for coming through such a hard life, she has really impressed me recently though I did not like her at the start at all.

Katie, is scarey!!! I coulnd't belive when Nick said she looked good . Think he needs to get his presciption changed in specsavers!!

I would love to know what has happened to her in her life to make her such a vile individual. Was she always like that????

Lohit seems lovely, I'm a little unsure of his capability. Of the 5 he has probably had the least air time, so I still feel like I 'know' him the best. Either way I predict good things will happen for him, he seems like one of those all round great guys.
