I disagree, if you're from nothing you have nothing to live up to, coming from a more priviledged background, you have the pressure of expectation which is pretty ugly.
I think Simon clearly is intelligent, did well academically, got into a good career path, but in some way cocked it up and as a result is now rather directionless whilst running one thing or another to pay his way. The Apprentice looks like him trying to take an opportunity to regain direction and success having messed up, I'm sure he'll be appreciative of the opportunity and do his best not to muck up. I wish him all the best for the final, thought Kristina is a great candidate too, but were she not to get it, it should not be such a great loss to her as it appears it might be for Simon.
