Built-in freeview telly/ dvd recorder : HELP!!

New to this forum so please forgive me if I'm covering old ground. Ok, here goes...

Just bought a Sony RDR HX525 dvd Recorder, TV is Daewoo DUB2850-GB(with integrated Freeview).
Despite assurances from the salesman that the recorder would pick up the freeview channels, I can't for the life of me find more than the 5 terrestrial channels, which only come through as analogue.

The TV only has "aerial in" with no "out" socket - could that be the problem? If so, is there any kind of adaptor available (a long shot I know)?

A stand alone freeview box has been suggested but would that be ok to run with a tv that's already freeview?

Any help on this hugely appreciated, my sanity is fragile enough already!
Thanx in advance.

From a quick look at the service manual, it looks likes it's an analogue recorder only - your best option is an external FreeView box - no problems with your existing TV.

Thanks for that Nigel. I'd more or less come to the same conclusion but thought I'd try for some advice anyway.

Salesmen - dontcha just love 'em?
Cheers again for your time, and anymore opinions always gratefully received.

Nearly forgot - can anyone recommend a reliable review site for hardware such as the Sony? It seemed a hell of a bargain (aside from the ignorant sales staff!) but I'd still like to see some opinions.
